甘蔗酒店(Saccharum Resort)

A beautiful beachfront hotel that is perfect for romantic getaways and a cheaper alternative, yet still luxury, to standard 5 star hotels. Location wise the hotel isn’t great as it’s very remote from the *****/city centre and taxi prices are not particularly cheap in Madeira. The rooms are spacious and stunning, well worth it with a great selection for the breakfast buffet and plenty of restaurants/options for dinner. A lovely love band/musician plays every night which is also great. Overall a wonderful stay with much friendly staff, however if you are looking to do much sightseeing in Madeira, this hotel is not the best option unless a significant amount is left for travel.

Hotel is 5* but you only receive 4* services and facilities if you want to full access you must pay for premium 70Euro a day per person! No beds by the pool no access to indoor pool or spa. No water every day in the room… Food is horrible in the restaurant, after returning 3 dishes we ordered delivery for the rest of the days. Rooms showers share the same drains internals so smell and water from one shower in one room goes into the other room shower. I got a call from guest relations explained and she said they will check but of course nothing from the hotel. Simply an hotel not for me.

Van A tot Z alles Mega. Hier kom je echt tot rust. Reuze keuze met ontbijt. Uitstraling van het hotel is geweldig Personeel héél vriendelijk. . Goede bedden, heerlijke douche. En wat ook geweldig is, ze halen handdoeken weg bij het zwembad wanneer ze daar van tevoren worden neergelegd. Hier word je toch blij van??!!

The property is wonderful, the staff makes the difference because the service it’s incredible. In the spa there are a lot of facilities, the hotel is new & proper. The only disadvantage : during the night there is not much things to do near the hotel, the only thing is to go tu Funchal which is about 30 min by car. But definitely we had the opportunity to relax in this oasis called Saccharum.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und professionell. Das Hotel ist sehr stilvoll und sehr gut ausgestattet. Es ist schade, dass man für manche Dinge (z.B. Liegen direkt am Pool) noch extra zahlen muss - sollte bei dem Preis eigentlich mit drin sein.

We had a fantastic week at this hotel. We paid the extra for premium club experience. It was well worth it. Fantastic service from all the staff. My two issues were: being on the 7th floor underneath the Fly bar, we could hear the music and singing above us until late at night; the biggest problem was the smoking - allowing smoking on the balcony of the hotel rooms meant we were unable to enjoy the use of our balcony. We also had to keep closing our sliding door when the guest next door was smoking on his balcony. I heard another guest complaining at reception about the same issue affecting them. In the UK, most outdoor areas where food is being served, do not allow smoking. It ruined our experience of the Club outdoor area, when other guests smoked whilst we were eating/drinking there.
