豪菲爾德莊園酒店(Howfield Manor Hotel)

L'établissement n'est pas en pleine nature contrairement à ce que le site web peut laisser penser... Il y a 2 routes sur 2 des 4 côtés, une zone d'activités en face... rien de gênant une fois que l'on est à l'intérieur, mais il faut le savoir. Ceci dit, les extérieurs, dont le jardin, sont très sympas. Pas de nuisance sonore liée à la circulation routière ou ferroviaire tant qu'on est à l'intérieur. Pour un événement en extérieur j'en suis moins sûr. En fonction de la chambre qui vous sera affectée, être conscient que vous allez devoir faire de la manutention de bagages. Un certain nombre de petits escaliers intermédiaires, et aucun ascenseur. Petit déjeuner très bien. Personnel poli et accueillant. Là ou cet endroit perd ses 2 étoiles sur 5, c'est la chambre (n°16) : - grande certes mais vieillissante - salle de bain minuscule, décalée par rapport au standing de l'établissement, à rénover absolument. Douche inréglable en température, capricieuse et imprévisible, un coup glacée, un coup bouillante. - et le pire : chambre située à proximité immédiate de la centrale du chauffage central. Réveillé à 6h du matin par le bruit de la chaudière (comme un groupe électrogène diesel) jusqu'à 8h, fonctionne aussi le soir. On en arriverait presque à oublier la transparence sonore avec la salle de bains de la chambre d'à côté (n°17, à éviter aussi) où on entend le moindre clapotis... Reproche concernant le chauffage central fait à la Réception lors de notre départ, réponse "surprise en mode mauvaise foi" : ah bon?

Stayed for one night, room was clean and comfortable. A fan was provided which was very welcome. Breakfast was great, ample choice. Very friendly staff. Plenty of parking spaces even though we arrived late and a wedding reception being held. Not disturbed by any noise from the wedding but did receive a polite email before we arrived to let us know.

I went to Howfield manor today with my mum. We went to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary, unfortunately my father passed away in may. The wonderful staff (especially the the lady, whose name I didn't get) were just amazing. The incredibly kind gesture at the end just made a hard day so much brighter. I honestly can say that you will not receive such wonderful service anywhere else. The afternoon tea was delicious and the setting is lovely. 100%recommend, we will be going again and I will be encouraging friends and family to go too. Thank you Howfield manor.

My husband and I stayed at Howfield Manor with my mum for our 30th Wedding Anniversary we actually had our wedding reception and stayed at Howfield Manor 30 years ago. My husband had booked two four poster bedrooms as a surprise. One was in the older part of the hotel were we stayed 30 years ago the other in the newer extension. It was great to have a choice traditional or newer. On arrival our room had been decorated to celebrate our anniversary. Both rooms had all the facilities you needed. Soft bedding and pillows, soft towels and warm homely décor. A big thank you to Kevin, Muriel, Tahira, Rihanna and some special guests who helped us celebrate. All the food was fresh, good quality and well cooked and displayed. We all had a fabulous time and we cant wait till next time but we certainly wont wait as long. Thank you

We stayed here for 3 nights on a weekend in August. Overall the hotel was clean as was the bedroom. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful except for some new waitresses at breakfast who had clearly not been trained effectively and/or did not have relevant hospitality experience. Our Saturday and Sunday breakfasts were very disappointing from a service point of view and our experience was reflected by other residents, For example, one waitress would serve a pot of tea or coffee and every time forgot the jug of milk. When asked if there was some brown bread she brought brown sauce. Service was slow on both mornings and the cooked breakfasts were not hot. Monday morning was a much better experience with one of the regular staff serving. The receptionists and chambermaids were friendly too and on our last morning one of the chambermaids insisted on carrying our suitcase down the stairs to reception. The food in the evening was mostly well-prepared especially the rack of lamb and haddock and chips(this off the bar menu) but we were very disappointed that the only offer of food on Sunday evening was the Sunday roast (not even anything from the bar menu). As a result we drove into Canterbury and had freshly prepared food. We noticed several other reviews stating that the hotel was quiet. Although the Hotel is located within pleasant grounds unfortunately as it was very warm, the bedroom was stuffy, so we had to have a window open all night, As a result we were disturbed by the busy A road to Ashford and the railway line, both of which pass about 200 metres away.

My experience at this hotel was unfortunately highly unsatisfactory. The pictures on the website had completely misled me, as the reality was in stark contrast to the appealing representations. The bed was obviously misaligned and saggy, causing one person's movement to make the other feel seasick due to the entire bed shaking. The mattress was uncomfortable, and one could clearly feel the springs, resulting in restless sleep. Additionally, the internet was not working in our room, which was a significant inconvenience during our stay. However, it's worth mentioning that the hotel had a spacious parking area, which was a positive aspect. Moreover, its proximity to Canterbury was convenient for exploring the city. Overall, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this hotel due to the misleading website, uncomfortable bed, internet issues, and lack of comfort. Despite the positive attributes like ample parking and location, the negative aspects significantly impacted our experience. I hope the hotel addresses these concerns to improve future stays and provide a more accurate representation to potential guests.

Had another lovely stay at Howfield. Food excellent as always, lovely staff only one slight quibble the water pressure in the shower was very poor. Apart from that a lovely break. Breakfast was very good as well. We always come here for Sunday Roast as well and never need to book

Merveilleux !! Exactement ce que l’on attend d’un hôtel typique de l’angleterre , on y mange très bien, le breakfast est sublime !! Et les chambres bien romantiques !! Les salons sont intimes et cosy on peu discuter dans un bon canapé tranquillement !!
