I stayed at this hotel last weekend. This was second visit and this time the experience was terrible. I booked a luxury suite with king bed. I paid a total of $507 for one night. The room I was given did not have any kitchen. Not sure how that can be a suite. I stayed at a condo style suite in February that is fully equipped with a kitchen and laundry facility. I paid $250 for one night at that time. This time I was traveling with my child that is why I booked the same kind of room. But the room I was given had none of those amenities. No microwave and no stove to warm up food for my kid. They gave me the room in the hotel's website. It did not have any kitchenette, no microwave, only a wine cooler. A microwave and fridge is important when we travel with a child who was with me during check-in. The room we stayed in did not have any cell service from both AT&T and T-mobile. There was no phone in the room to call the reception or the emergency number they have given us. The hotel description says that they have a restaurant on site. But without a cell service or room service phone there was no way to call anyone including the emergency number. They had a WiFi network but it was not secure. There was no privacy acknowledgement and we tried not to use the WiFi network due to privacy concerns. The room had a great view. A lot of tech amenities but no cell service or secure WiFi. The room did not have a phone to call the reception or room service. There was no dresser to put our clothes in. No microwave and proper fridge (only a wine cooler). It took us forever to figure out how to get inside the bathroom and it was not easy to figure out how to close the blinds on the glass bathroom wall. It is a huge privacy issue when we travel with kids. When we got in the bathroom there were dirty towels on the floor with stains. The smart TV had Netflix app but instead of a kids account there was an account name "keenks". I had to make sure my kid is not exposed to any rated videos. There were no restaurant leaflets that we could order food from. The hotel has safety issues. They have Exit marked with lit. signs but no way to access the exit. The doorway was locked. Not sure how to evacuate at the time of emergency (maybe Tsunami). The grounds were not well lit. It was rainy night and could have caused me and my child have an injury due to fall. I have left both voicemail and text messages on their emergency line but they never got back. Not sure what they mean by emergency. When I told the management about the issues next morning they treated me pretty badly in front of my child. I felt threatened and my child was terrified.

We had the most amazing weekend at the Viewpoint! We were there for a wedding and everything was amazing. The property itself was gorgeous and you can’t beat the views. The entire staff was so friendly! Loved the Prosecco and cold brew available in the lobby. Such a cute area to walk around and check out the lighthouse! We enjoyed the hot tub and pool as well. We can’t wait to go back!!

Everything about our stay at the viewpoint was perfect from start to finish. I chose the viewpoint for the location of our marriage proposal and the staff was so helpful and accommodating from start to finish. I informed the front desk staff I was planning on the proposal during our stay and they played along with the surprise to make it such a special day for us. Our room was nothing shot of spectacular, the view, the technology, the comfort of the bed every single aspect was perfect. Outdoors the grounds were immaculate even with it being off season. I would strongly recommend the viewpoint to anyone looking to visit York or have a unique start minutes from downtown Portsmouth. We look forward to visiting again this summer and next year to celebrate our one year anniversary. Thank you again viewpoint staff for making our special day one to remember forever!
