聖弗朗西斯開普假村(Cape St Francis Resort)

Not the type of place we were expecting at all! We arrived to a very dirty, run down '5 star' villa with dirt literally engrained into the floor, plug sockets hanging off the walls, and wires hanging over the shower. The place was so bad we actually had to request to change villa's, to somewhere that had at least been cleaned properly. The only places to get food within walking distance are a fish restaurant with only 3 types of fish on the menu, a very American-style bar, or a packet of crisps from the on-site shop. Impossible to buy groceries unless you have a car and can drive out of the resort. The place had a very Butlins/caravan park type cheapness to it. And I'm not even going to get started on the extremely racist views that were expressed by management...

This is probably the worst place to stay in terms of accommodation as the rooms are dilapidated and really run down. Needs a major revamp. Also to have decent meals you would have to pass shacka which could be dangerous for night driving. Definitely would not recommend this resort.

Staff wear smiles all the time. Food is amazing and generous proportions. Access to the beach easy. And An easy walk to the Light House. Accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped. Great little shop And you can have your clothes lauded laundered.

We were travelling as a family of 4 and had an extraordinary stay at Seagull Song, one of the superb beach break luxury villas. Right on the ocean with private beach access and ocean views from the sea facing bedrooms, the villa provided us a true home away from home. We arrived very early as we had and early morning flight into P.E., nevertheless we had a super warm and friendly welcome by Simone & team and were super lucky to check in around mid morning already which allowed us extra time to enjoy the beautiful views and all the comfort the villa has to offer. The villa has all you can wish for, large & comfy living room with a cosy fire place that we used every day given the unusual chilly weather, outside sitting area and braai, pool, deck, garden, very spacious and comfortable bedrooms, a roof top terrace for even more views of the ocean, well stocked honesty bar,… too many good things to mention. The location is perfect for long beach walks, which we did every spare moment. Also enjoyed a challenging round of golf at St Francis Links and explored some of the nature trails right outside the resort entrance. The very friendly staff made our stay unforgetable and we can’t wait to be back again soon and spend more time in laid back and wonderful Cape St Francis beach resort.

We had a fabulous stay here as part of a two week tour of South Africa, but one night wasn't long enough! The rooms were comfortable and spacious and decorated in a beach style shabby chic. It was cold when we were there but a fan heater was provided in the room, along with extra blankets, so we were fine. My only criticism is that the bathroom could have been cleaner - there were quite a few hairs in the bath. The food in the restaurant and the ambience were excellent. At dinner there was a limited choice for vegetarians but luckily I really enjoyed the one vegetarian main course on offer! The beach was amazing. I can definitely recommend this resort and would love to come back one day.

In the middle of nowhere! Prachtig ( wel verouderd) gedeeld huis nog net niet helemaal op t strand, de huiskamer deelden we met een ons onbekend stel wat een beetje vreemd overkwam, het restaurant is gewoon slecht de eerste avond konden we niet een een salade bestellen, de volgende avond werd ons gemeld om 20 minuten over acht dat de keuken al dicht was😂😂😂, we hadden geen keus dan in t andere intens verlichte restaurant te gaan zitten wat we maar niet hebben gedaan. Gelukkig hadden we goed geluncht bij Nevermind (absoluut een aanrader) waardoor het wat minder erg was, volgende ochtend moesten we voor half acht weg, het ontbijt zou pas om die tijd beginnen, kwamen we om 7 uur, was t toch open??

The resort is wonderful, we were really treated well, when issue around the converter were raised, they gave us a room upgrade and, how spectacular is the fisheagle, right next to the beach, it was a dream.

We stayed in two of the beach villas right in front of the ocean, with great seaviews. We had an amazing time as the villas catered to all our needs. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the space was good for relaxing. The staff were great and a lady called Betty took care of us and there was no request small or big enough for her. She made our stay wonderful. Great stay. We will be back!

Perfectly located for a great holiday or getaway of any kind. It’s a multi ownership set up, with a combination of owned properties, as well rooms for rent, in a resort type of style. There is good facilities management, maintenance, security and facilities available. And for this the resort can’t be faulted. It’s easily a 4/5 on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately my experience may be unique, so one can’t assume that this happens all the time. During my stay which would have been over a two months period, conferences that had a mostly government related contingents, had delegates that had little to absolutely no regard for anyones privacy, much less any kind of respect for others. I acknowledge that some peoples life experiences and living conditions at their homes may be very different to others. It’s a complex historical problem in SA. But manners are universal, and should be applied universally. The hotel/resort type section which encompasses various roomed accommodations a swimming pool, restaurant and conference facilities and the main admin area houses the resorts guests and conference delegates. I have experienced bad behaviour related to some guests. It seems over weekends especially and evenings, there is very little management of guests. By that I mean, drinking, loud conversationing, partying or gatherings into the small hours of the morning, in addition to the rules regarding use of the pool area being completely disregarded. Conferences are well know for their socialising aspects, but it’s a pity that the resort has had to incorporate this type of activity into its product mix. Notwithstanding my experiences I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. But I would be remiss, if I didn’t have the accompanying caution.
