St James Manor is a lovely location. As with any place in South Africa, please be vigilant. Unfortunately a significant amount of cash was stolen from our room during our stay. The hotel was assiduous in following up and there is no evidence that hotel staff were involved. Please do follow up immediately on site if you find your room unlocked.

You will not regret staying at St James Manor. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and welcome. The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxing and the staff are very friendly, happy in their jobs and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent too. St James is also an ideal base for exploring the Cape Peninsula

A Gem of a Small Hotel! My husband and I spent 6 delightful nights at The St James Manor Guest House over the New Year …. We loved every moment of our stay and cannot wait to return . The Manor House is beautifully furnished with antiques and the understated service is perfect - ones every need is quietly catered for ! The large suites are exquisite and the peace and quiet of the setting between the mountain and the sea is perfect ! Dene and her small team are unobtrusively present for your every need 👌 We shall hopefully be back very soon

Looking back on my stay here I was really impressed by the 5 star ambiance of this beautiful Manor house. Quiet and tranquil with great furnishings and amazing breakfast. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, all managed by Dene who is running a tight ship. Thank you for making our holiday amazing we look forward to the next visit

This is a delightful small hotel where we were very well looked after. it has a very nice little pool for getting away from everything. Restaurants are a short walk away in Kalk Bay. We stayed for a couple of days. Had a lovely large room.

We have just arrived back into the UK after an amazing holiday in South Africa We were lucky enough to experience both the St James Manor House and Homestead Villa the following week for our family Birthday Party Both are owned by the Rovos Rail Group Clive, Dene and all the staff looking after both properties, went out of their way to give us a wonderful time in both places The guest house is lovely, small but so personal. The breakfast was wonderful and they even had an honesty bar where you can socialise and chat to other guests The Villa was absolutely fabulous although I feel the website photos don't do it the justice it deserves. Each of the six bedrooms are massive suites with a huge living space, spectacular beds and bathrooms The living spaces are on the ground floor looking out to sea and the upper level also with a balcony and a sea view We actually spotted a couple of dolphins whilst sitting on the spacious terrace We used the pool and rear outside spaces when it was good weather Everyone had special memories to take home We would highly recommend the Villa for a larger group We had the best time in both accommodations Thank you all xx

Was booked here (by Rovos) after travelling Rovos Rail on two consecutive train journeys. This is a tired establishment which needs some serious upgrades. The pictures tell the story. But as this review site requires at least 200 characters then this is the sentence to allow it to be posted.

Very comfortable, spotless, excellent service. Lovely beach front walk and good shops and restaurants a 10 minute walk away.

Lovely accommodation with very friendly & helpful staff. It was very quiet - on the first night I think we were the only guests - which felt a bit strange, but I do appreciate we were there at the end of the season. Kalk Bay is a very nice resort with some very nice coffee shops and restaurants, all within walking distance of the manor. Highly recommended!
