Beautiful hotel and room, very nicely decorated. The room was huge and clean and quiet. The staff were the nicest we met on our road trip. My kids had a problem with the room key as my husband and I were unloading our car, and one of the front desk ladies actually made new keys and took them up to them, which was so kind and helpful for her to do (everywhere else they’d tell you to come back to the front desk!). Slept well and breakfast the next day was very good. The only problems we had was with the Wi-Fi, which we gave up on trying to get it to work, and that the room temp was 77 degrees and took a long time to cool down. I’d highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The best sheets ever! Very clean and smelled wonderful. Great customer service. Nice added touch with fresh baked cookies and popcorn! Personnel were very polite and attentive. Breakfast was good, hot and tasty! I would pick a comfort inn again

I like chain hotels, generally you know what to expect. Was given a room on the top floor. Did hear TV from adjoining room, but not bad. Breakfast was normal fare. I prefer an omelet but all offered were scrambled eggs. Lobby had a 24/7 coffee bar, a nice touch. Cookies in the lobby every afternoon. Location. At the extreme northern end of Carlsbad, expect to add time compared to hotels closer to the caverns. At this time of year not bad, during the summer need to add extra minutes on your trip to the caverns. Would I recommend? Yes, with the information about the locations.

Want an overpriced prison stay? Welcome and for $170 a night, you can be treated not as a person, but as someone to do the hotel's bidding. Don't have any special needs, because what matters are THE RULES. As a couple, having stayed in hotels for the past 13 months straight (for work), we are experts on what makes a hotel stay enjoyable. The most important thing is not that the hotel is the most updated and perfect (which this hotel is neither) but that basic respect for your needs can be met. Our needs of privacy and security are paramount to every other factor to be considered. The request was simple. No cleaning service during our stay. Management was welcome to come and check the room anytime they wanted to, but we would be living there, and cleaning ourselves. Otherwise, no one to enter our room during our stay, except for emergencies , of course. The "Do Not Enter" sign is always on the door and since we are extremely clean and take care of our own changing of linens and exchanging towels, there would be no need to have someone enter the room. This is an issue, because one of us is deaf... the one who spends most time in the room. Having someone enter the room unexpectedly affects the sense of security.... a simple request. This has never been an issue for any hotel and we have stayed in many. Many. But here, the rooms will be cleaned by their staff every 3 days minimum, without fail. IT'S THE RULE. Sarah, the self proclaimed general manager says, a direct quote "You lose your right to privacy when you choose to stay in a hotel". What a draconian idea. The tension in this place is palpable as you always seem to be under the watch of one of the staff. It's like some force has a short leash on everyone. So Mark, the also self proclaimed general manager (who knows... maybe everyone is the general manager) reiterated similar sentiment as Sarah. Anyway, we don't stay in such places. We packed and moved up the street for what is already a month stay and due to be longer. Also, since we left, a package arrived, and was signed for by a front desk clerk, has gone missing. It cost over $700 for the item which was delivered. After several calls over a week, no one has any idea what happened to the package. If you plan to stay for more than one night, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES REQUEST SOMETHING THAT GOES AGAINST THE RULES. Similar places that have unchangeable rules, come to mind...prisons, and the military, and a hotel shouldn't feel like either. If you want to be treated as a guest, don't stay here.

Generally a good experience. We had a spacious room, great beds, new fluffy towels, and clean carpet. The shower itself was good, but it wasted a ton of water by running at both the shower and tub levels. Some signs of wear and tear, like broken tiles. We had a problem with the heat control; had to set it at 80° in the morning to get warm. They are still using mini plastic bottles for shampoo, etc.

We had a great 5-night stay in this hotel - new building and everything clean and quiet. During our stay a lot of workers were also staying there: construction, electrical contractors and others. The hotel doesn't allow pets, which is just fine with us. Rooms (we had two - more about that later) were quiet, and I can't imagine traffic noise as some other reviewers have reported. We had trouble with the Wi-Fi connection. Both of our laptops would not connect in our room on the 4th floor. They did fine in the lobby. Husband spent 3 hours on the phone with the help desk, thinking that a router reboot might work, but that didn't happen. We moved to another room, and that solved the issue, so just be aware that a connection issue might not be your computer. Great hotel on the north end of town, near the medical center, near State park and zoo. We would happily stay here again.

Good Spacious room; clean room and bathroom; full size luggage cart; room a/c works well; the work desk chair raises to a proper height for typing; good WiFi; plain oatmeal packets; breakfast choices are really good. Not good Not a single towel rack in the bathroom, not even a rack for the sink hand towel; this is utterly stupid; get rid of the useless pictures on the wall next to the shower and put towel racks there. No grab bars in the shower. The a/c unit does real good for cooling, but comes up way short on heat. Tried to get heat out for two mornings with the unit on heat and auto, but nothing doing. All that could be done was to just put it on heat and then "On"; "Auto" never put any heat out of the unit. Overall Really nice place to stay. The stay would be improved if they would just put in towel racks and have a combined hvac unit that would put out some heat.

We experienced the best service of our trip at the Comfort Suites, we were given a gift bag upon arrival, there were wonderful cookies each day. The breakfast room was the best! A waffle baker with cinnamon waffle batter. Wonderful Service by the lady who took care of the breakfast room. The breakfast room was never crowded. The room was clean and had a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. We liked that it was north of midtown Carlsbad and our GPS always took us back streets to miss the traffic in the middle of town. The folks at the front desk were very welcoming and the cleaning crews were smiling and pleasant.

Very pleasant property--the lobby had been beautifully decorated for the fall season. Front desk clerk was friendly and though her computer was giving her problems, kept her cool. Room was clean, bed comfortable, nice pillows. Breakfast was quite good. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here 2 nights while visiting the caverns and Guadalupe Mtns NP. This newer hotel was outstanding. The room was very large and comfortable. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly.

Hotel is nice, room was good. Problem is there is traffic day and night roaring down the highway. Couldn’t fall asleep. Front desk was nice at check-in. Breakfast was nothing special and had little for gluten free options—fruit, cheerios.

The service here is exceptional. Super clean. The breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip. They offered milk, cookies and popcorn to guests. I left my room key upstairs and need to use the laundry, so front desk issued me a new one so I would not have to go back to my room.

We had a large room, well lit, with a comfortable king bed and a sitting area with a nice sofa. There was also a mini-fridge with freezer and a microwave. There was plenty of counter space in the decently-lit bathroom, and a large shower with a good shower head. The toilet paper was unreachable from the toilet. The toilet had a very loud flush. The heating/AC unit was also loud. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was better than average with good bacon (not paper thin). We appreciated the free popcorn in the lobby.

I reserved an accessible 2 queen suite online for my family of 5. When we checked in they put us in a 1 king suite that was not accessible. There were not enough beds for my family and not accessible for my daughter in a wheelchair. When I spoke to the manager he was extremely rude. He did not attempt to help us, would not consider giving a discount due to their error. He essentially smirked in my face and told me that's just the way it is. I've never met a more rude manager before. Customer Service should be important, but apparently he didn't care because he knew we had no other choice since all the hotels were full. I have filed an online complaint with the company and intend to get a refund due to such poor customer service.
