喬治·華盛頓賓館(George Washington Inn)

Really nice big room and above a lovely local pub. No noise issues at at all and we stayed on a friday and Saturday. The breakfast was very good and a large portion. And staff where very nice.

The room was lovely. Shower a bit small in the en suite but otherwise tip top. I was worried about being over a pub but needn’t have been. Good night’s sleep and no trouble at all. Hospitality ok. A bit stilted and not overly welcoming on arrival and service at breakfast was a bit high and mighty but still decent enough. Note the door into the bar for breakfast isn’t locked, despite looking like it is. Why they don’t just open it I don’t know but I could tell I was considered thick for not knowing this. Breakfast itself was excellent. However note you only have a 30 minute window (8.30-9.00) to take it and it’s the full English or nothing (apart from cereals). Not even a choice of eggs. Not a problem for us but best be aware of this. Quality of ingredients was excellent as was the cooking. Price was decent too. Overall very good.

Stayed just overnight. Owner welcomed us an carried my bag to the room. (Lovely touch.) Tea was very nice & we enjoyed the beer & the atmosphere of the pub. Really comfy bed & so peaceful. Full English Breakfast gave us a good start for the day. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

Loved this pub. Have stayed at many pubs over the years and often regretted it as they can be unloved or grubby or tired. Not this one; spotlessly clean, light room and surprisingly large too. Super-comfy, big bed. Clean, pleasant bathroom with nice shower. Hospitable, welcoming hosts (in a suitably understated Lancashire style of course). Lovely cooked breakfast, nice coffee. And the real ale was all excellent as well. Many thanks, I wish there were more places like this.

It was located outside of Carnforth, in warton. We were not aware of the walking distance with luggage between Carnforth and warton and the busses were hard (at least for us) to locate. It was a pleasant walk albeit a little tedious with narrow sidewalks and streets and fast moving cars. That said, our hosts st the hotel in warton were lovely and hospitable and were kind enough to drive us back to Carnforth train station the next day so we could catch the train for the rest of our journey. From our hotel in Warton, there was a lovely, public walking trail in the fields, which was very ‘British’ and scenic and a welcomed break in the midst of our busy travels. There is also a lovely church and an old rectory which was interesting to wander through. This little community offered us a forced slow down which resulted in helping to centre us for the next leg of our journey.

The check in was easy and the room was clean and very comfy. Good beer served at the bar and good breakfast in the morning. The pub is a 5 minute drive from carnforth and the taxis are a bit hit and miss, this obviously isn't the pubs fault. Great stay and would recommend.

We liked the unexpected. Such a jolly good hotel with a fine couple who run it. Absolutely recommendable.

The rooms are located above the bar, but no noise heard. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious.
