After a 13hr drive to get to hotel we checked in around 1am. There were large (main body about the size of a quarter) crickets in the room. I caught the first under drinking cup and took it to main desk. They said “It’s harmless.” I said “I know, it is a cricket, but I still don’t want to share my room with bugs. If you can open the front door I will let it go outside.” Waking up a couple hours later to use restroom I found another, put cup over it and went to bed. At 6am banging from room above (running/jumping child?) woke us. It did not stop and could not be drowned out with hvac and bathroom fans. I tried calling front desk on two occasions and no answer. I finally got dressed and walked back to front desk with another bug in tow to request that they ask the guests above to control/minimize the pounding (not normal foot traffic or suitcase movement). It got worse. When we gave up trying to sleep and went for breakfast I told the front desk about the continuation. They said “They came down for breakfast, I am sure it was quiet then.” I replied that “Yes, i know exactly when they left and when they returned.” Not helpful. Upon checking out I asked if, in lieu of the bugs and disrespectful guests above us, that we could be given a discount on the room. The front desk agent said “I am glad you asked for that. Our manager said we could offer you a $10 credit.” Brandy and Kelly were the manager names given. I found this to be non compensatory / insulting.
