We chose this spot for a week-long dive trip because of its convenient location next to the dive shop. That part was great. Unfortunately, the accommodations didn’t live up to expectations. Even though we booked in January (2–3 months in advance), our room was double-booked when we arrived. Our group was split into two separate rooms for the first night—not ideal, and not our fault—but we didn’t make a fuss. When we got to our originally booked room the next day, we found the fridge didn’t work, none of the electrical outlets had power until we figured out the transformer was off, and there were no complimentary bottles of drinking water as advertised—something that would’ve been helpful on an island still recovering from hurricane damage and not exactly set up for tourism. Towels were never refreshed, and there was no trash service—no one came by to collect it, and we weren’t given extra bags. Not a dealbreaker on its own, but it added up. After four nights, we decided to cut our trip short by three nights. I mentioned it in person, in a respectful and friendly way, and followed up on WhatsApp in hopes of a partial refund—at least for the first night where the booking error wasn’t on us. The response was polite but dismissive: no refund, and no flexibility. I asked a reasonable follow-up question and never got a response—not even a goodbye. It was a disappointing way to end what could have been a great experience. We’re very easygoing travelers and didn’t complain during our stay. I think a one-night refund would’ve been a fair gesture, given the issues. Instead, we left feeling like once we were honest about our concerns, the hospitality vanished. The location is solid, but the experience lacked the care and communication that makes guests feel welcome. Wouldn’t stay again.

I chose Carriacou as my destination for diving, and Deefer Divers, situated adjacent, suggested staying at Rosa Guest House due to its proximity to the dive shop. It turned out to be an incredibly convenient choice. I reserved a studio with a balcony, which was not only well-maintained but also equipped with a compact kitchen containing a stove, refrigerator, and sink. The room was just the right size for a diver like me, considering I spent the majority of my time in the water. The property owners, who reside on-site, were exceptionally friendly. They offered excellent restaurant recommendations spanning the entire island. As previously mentioned, the guest house is conveniently located next to Deefer Diving, and within walking distance, there's a supermarket, along with several restaurants and bars. Given the seamless experience and the delightful surroundings, I would without a doubt choose to stay at Rosa Guest House again.
