Great relaxing spot and really enjoyed our stay Family who run the hotel are wonderful, and helped us a lot as it was our first day in Spain. Good room and healthy breakfast. Plenty to eat and the cook catered to all your needs Pity we could not stay longer.

Very pleasant hotel and service. Good cooking. Nice small hotel. Recommended to go to. Tiny and friendly village. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was nice too. Close to Ronda. Pleasant talking with Frank and Antje. Apparently good for hiking as well. Beds were good

We loved this homely, welcoming hotel. Frank and Antje were very friendly and helpful. The village is so pretty, with beautiful views. The evening meal was delicious, our favourite dinner on our Andalusian holiday! Great breakfast too. Thank you.

We have just completed a weeks hiking in the hills surrounding this lovely hotel in Cartajima. Having stayed there before 13 years ago we were a little concerned about the recent change of ownership but we needn’t have worried. Frank is not only a great host but an excellent chef. He has maintained the open house tradition of LC. Dinner was always delicious ranging from Israeli inspired salad to Hungarian goulash all cooked superbly. All was prepared to accommodate the fact that I need to be gluten free. There was an eclectic mix of guests making for good conversation over dinner. Maria, a local villager, was always there to help with a warm welcoming smile. Rooms are comfortable but basic and the hotel offers a great base for hiking including the Caminito del Rey or visiting the local attractions at Ronda and other villages. The roof terrace offers a lovely location to relax after a days hiking. We would definitely recommend and return again if our walking legs permit.

This was our first stop on our 10 day drive around Western Andalucia and it was a good choice. Frank has taken over the helm and is doing a superb job after only 6 weeks as new owner/manager. We had a lovely welcome with gins on the rooftop terrace and admired the pretty village below. The hotel is comfortable and authentic and there are sustainable measures which are very pleasing to see. The meal cooked by Frank was indeed worthy of Yotam Ottolenghi and accompanied by wine from the locality. We managed a couple of walks around the village but wished we had been able to stay longer to do some of the nearby longer walks to adjacent villages. The chestnut groves and wildflowers are a sight to behold. This is a proper casa rural with a host who will help you get the most out of your stay in this area and to appreciate the joys of a most delightful part of Spain.

We spent three nights at this lovely small hotel in the pretty white village of Cartajima. Our room ( with balcony) was very clean , quiet and comfortable with moroccan style furnishings and a beautiful view over the mountains. The communal roof terrace has stunning view and is a great place to relax. Di and John were very welcoming hosts and we were lucky enough to have three delicious dinners cooked by Di. There are plenty of great walks in the area and we enjoyed exploring Ronda. We are looking forward to another stay.

Liebevoll eingerichtet, saubere Zimmer und freundliches Personal. Das dort angebotene Abendessen sollte man sich auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen, auf Wunsch auch vegetarisch oder koscherfreundlich. Sehr leckeres Frühstück mit frisch gepresstem Orangensaft, Eiern nach Wunsch, Obstsalat, griechischem Joghurt und gelegentlich selbst gebackenen Brot. Guter Startpunkt für Wanderungen direkt vor Ort oder in der Nähe.

Pasamos un fin de semana en el hotel y nos sorprendió gratamente. Todo superlimpio y cuidado hasta el último detalle. La cama muy cómoda y el baño dotado de todo lo necesario con agua caliente al instante en la ducha. Tomamos el desayuno allí, anotas la noche anterior lo que quieres tomar y por la mañana está todo preparado, muy completo y delicioso, con productos de calidad de la zona. Los regentes (no recuerdo los nombres), son encantadores y dispuestos a ayudar en todo. Un trato muy cercano y familiar. Nos sirvió además para conocer el pueblo, un remanso de paz con murales decorando las fachadas de las casas que bien merecen un paseo por sus calles. Un buen lugar para combinar con actividades de turismo activo de lo que hay una gran oferta en la zona.
