Family visit so I need to be local . For a town that has very easy access to the city I was more than happy

Feels more like a guest house (with a personal touch) than a hotel. Some would say basic but I've found everything I needed on a stopover for one night. They show the football games in the bar and there's a large menu in the restaurant/lounge with frienly staff throughout. Breakfast is in the the little coffee shop that also belongs to it. Portions are enormous. So beware if you're not a big eater. Did you know that Irish Coffee was invented in Derg? Ask Olga about it - and also about the buried elephant in the backyard... Wouldn't stay anywhere else when in the area.

Plenty of parking at this hotel in the centre of castlederg, close to the ancient castle. Arrived on Sunday afternoon to check in. Sunday lunches were just finishing and the hotel was busy. There is a restaurant, bar and a games room . we were given the keys to room 3 upstairs. Large double with en-suite bath, shower, toilet. Ordered breakfast for 9.30 next morning. The room was very warm and we had a comfortable nights sleep. Had a great chat with the owners at breakfast. We will definitely be returning in summer to explore this lovely area

Visited Castlederg for the first time, and decided to go to the Derg Arms. Easy to park. Very warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Had a beautiful breakfast and enjoyed walking around the town, talking to locals. The Derg Arms seems to be a focal point for the community, as locals popped in for meals. I’d definitely return

Popped in for breakfast, having heard great reviews. Warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff. Large Ulster fry with tea and toast for only £9.95. Very good value and good quality food, we were full up. Lots of locals popping in to this very friendly meeting place. Next time we are visiting we will book a room to stay

Very friendly staff made you feel you’d known them for ages. Quirky building with lots of little sitting areas. Separate entrance to rooms was good especially when bar was very busy. Food in restaurant good but maybe not enough choice for non meat eater. Breakfast basic but good.

Stayed for 2 nights and loved everything about this hotel. The staff were amazingly friendly, the bed was memory foam so a great night’s sleep and the breakfast was superb. . Will definitely be booking again when I’m over that way, recommend 100%.
