In het begin niet zo goed onthaal, snel snel uitleg over kamer en faciliteiten. Daarna kamer gekregen en deze rook niet fris. Dan terug naar receptie, klacht gedaan over kamer. Manager gekomen en deze heeft gezorgd voor andere en frisse kamer. Blijkbaar door nasleep van Corona hebben vele hotels, mindere inkomsten gehad en nog steeds minder klanten. Hierdoor kamers minder gebruikt en wat achtergesteld onderhoud en minder personeel. Ontbijt zeer goed en met veel keuze. Restaurant a la carte, goed eten en vriendelijke bediening.

We needed a time to recharge, reflect and meditate and the place gave us that. We didn't drive too far to find fin activities like Canopy tours, Monks Cowl hiking trails, reptile place, chocolate tasting and my wife's favorite, the bakery.

We stay for a day and a night in this lovely golf resort with chalet for family. We really enjoyed the view and all the activities provided (putt , tennis court…).The staff is amazing. Food is great also. Price is a bit expensive.

The second time visiting Gooderson Monk's Cowl. The General Manager Kyle invited us back after a confusion from the booking agent on the first trip. We were impressed with the way the facility was run including the restaurant and food quality. The location in well situated between surrounding activities and hiking at Monk's Cowl Nature Reserve. The resort has many activities to offer within it and I will rather make a long weekend of it next time as opposed to just a 2 night stay as we did. All in all a very pleasant experience.

We had a one night’s stopover on our way home from Umhlanga. The staff were welcoming & we had a lovely room which ch was spacious & clean with 2 Double beds & a bathroom with a shower & bath. Everything was clean & neat. Our room overlooked the golf course. We had lunch at the restaurant & later had pizzas while we watched the Springbok / Ireland rugby in the lounge with fellow residents. Very festive. We could have had the Buffer Dinner. Beds were comfy and we had the Buffet Breakfast before we left the next day. The breakfast had a wide variety of options. Nobody went hungry.

This place is absolutely lovely to travel with your family. The pool and jacuzzi was our favorite facility at the resort. We only wasn't happy with the staff at the restaurant they seemed uninterested in serving and helping.

The resort is very well maintained. It is nice to see visible management, alway being ontop of everything. The food was very good and a nice variety. Pizzas are really fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and has all the creature comforts one needs. The bathrooms are spacious and nice to have a bath and shower. Kids amenties are great, just a suggestion to get the protective mats around the trampolines. Pools are spotless.

A lovely getaway, friendly staff, clean rooms - our only gripe is getting one flat/floppy pillow per person and being told that they do not offer extra pillows

We had such a serene and cozy stay. The staff, especially General manager, were so accommodating and helpful. The reception was so polite and insightful and what to do in the area. All the restaurant staff were very friendly and provided good service. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were friendly and efficient xxx

The place was BEAUTIFUL. A perfect getaway for couples and an even better getaway for a family with children. The rock pools were lovely, staff service was on point and the food and milkshakes were lovely .. Our favourite was waking up to the dam just outside our patio :)

Beautiful grounds and great bedrooms. Staff went out of there way to help. The amenities were spot on. Food in the restaurant was fantastic , The room was clean great shower pressure . The grounds were safe and ideal to have a walk. Plenty of coffee tea and milk in rooms and refreshed every day.

This is the first time ever in more than 20 years of hiking that I have seen our group smiling at the dinner table. The dinner was quite superb. Earlier we walked the golf course to enjoy that magnificence. An early start took us past Cathkin shrouded in the mist to Ntunja - eye of the needle in Zulu or Gatberg hidden behind Monks Cowl in a spectacular day hike. Again that awesome dinner that awaited our return was quickly demolished.. Breakfast was just fabulous. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable and our short Sunday hike of 8 km just exquisite. The staff were friendly and efficient. We will go back.

Booked for a Christmas vacation for a family of 52. We had the best time, the kids loved it, the adults loved it. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend. Would definitely come back again & again……..

This by far is a top class establishment where you will be treated like a king and queen, from the moment you book in to entering your room everything is at its best. You are spoiled for choice with the food options either buffet or alecart. The new management that has been here just over a year (a wife and husband duo) have brought the standard up to where Mr Gooderson can be proud to of appointed them to this role. Issues are resolved quickly and timeously. The management dont make you feel like a number they actually do there rounds and engage with their guests. A Big thank you to Kyle, Charmaine and all staff from the grounds men, maintenance, cleaning staff Chef and helpers and reception, and any staff left out you lucky to have the management team like this they are a prime example of how things should be run. A big thank you toball of you. Thank for our stay we are so relaxed. A much needed rest. Clint and Celeste
