Thursday lunchtime roast special and dessert only £12.00 yes £12.00 Apart from it being such fantastic value we had a choice of lamb or beef , absolutely beautifully cooked with massive amounts of four vegetables , roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding and extra gravy. Beautiful homemade chocolate and orange cheesecake. Lovely attentive staff. Thank you Haymaker for making a bleak January day so enjoyable.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Friendly enough in arrival, proper spit n sawdust pub, shown to room but hallway was grubby and stinks of cigarettes. Room itself was fine and comfortable. Food and drink in the bar very reasonable. Breakfast good and overall experience was good value for money, very cheap.

Very welcoming and friendly accommodation was exactly what we wanted good value clean and comfortable .food exceptional and good size portions Jason &wife couldnt do more for us have been before and will definitely recommend and will return again when down this way thankyou to all the staff.🌟⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stopped at The Haymaker for an overnight stop on route to Cornwall. The pub is quirky and has a traditional skittle alley. The staff were lovely, the food outstanding and the drink prices extremely reasonable. The rooms were clean, perhaps some minor work was needed in the bathrooms, but outstanding value for money and we would definitely stay again. It also had a lovely beer garden, which was a real sun trap. Throughly recommended.

The Haymaker is a little gem. The bedroom was clean, comfy and warm and breakfast was delicious. With lovely hosts. Its not frills, but has everything you need, in a lovely setting. Would definitely return, and is fantastic value for money.

Great experience landlord and landlady were really helpful and friendly great breakfast would stay there again, room was clean and tidy and service was excellent can't fault it would highly recommend. Bar was excellent with a good selection of drinks.

The choice of food and drink was perfect, proper English Pub at its best! Loved it. We're going back this week for more. The staff were lovely and we've had a most lovely evening, made us and the dog welcome.

The Haymaker Inn has a lot of character and a welcoming atmosphere. Our glasses of beer and cider were excellent - The Landlord knew his craft and his advice was very helpful in making the right choices. The food was tasty and the portions were very generous. Great value!

A great traditional village pub, very welcoming and dog friendly. Food all cooked fresh to order and very tasty. Good selection of pub games to pass the time aswell, would definitely recommend and visit again

Had a short break for two nights at the Haymaker Inn, the bedroom was clean and tidy, staff and owners were very accommodating. Very nice breakfast and the same applies to the evening meal. Dogs were made very welcome which was a big bonus to our stay. We shall definitely return. Thank you Carrie Jason & staff.

We stayed here as a stopover and we both felt very welcome and relaxed during our stay. Everything was lovely including our room, evening meal and breakfast. Our little dog was also made to feel very welcome and everyone was really friendly.

we love The Haymaker, great parking, fabulous owners, nice cosy room, topped off by a mega breakfast, stunning value for money, our go to place when we are visiting family in Chard, we will be back soon

Three of us went for lunch. It is a pleasant pub but the food was not very good. We were offered a choice of braised steak or chicken curry. I opted for the braised steak while my friend chose the curry, another chose the burger, We were told that there would be a wait as everything was being cooked from fresh. That was a huge stretch of the imagination. After a while I was told that there was no steak left. This might have seemed like a reasonable excuse if the pub was busy but there appeared to be only one other couple eating. I was left with little choice so I chose the chicken curry. What appeared on my plate was a very unappetising sloppy mess. With pubs struggling to find good chefs, the Haymeker definitely failed in the search.
