We had a 5 days long stay at this fabulous hotel and enjoyed every moment of our experience. Located at the entrance of Amboise, this hotel comprises of different buildings from different eras ranging from 16th to 18th centuries. The “history” is perfectly well preserved and the comfort needs of contemporary times are very well incorporated into that. Though you stay almost in a castle of 1700s, you have everything you need from heating to espresso machines, from running hot water to very comfortable beds, nothing is missing in terms of comfort. The reception staff are very attentive to customer needs, ready to give you advice. The breakfast is simple but very chic. The hotel grounds are delightful with tulips, wisterias, hundreds of years old trees. There is even a small pool with chaise longues. Of course as we were there in April we couldn’t enjoy the pool but nevertheless we sat around in the gardens and enjoyed our tea served in silver teaware. As for our room, it was on the House of the Chemist with views of La Loire and the gardens at once. We loved it: it was large, silent, very nicely decorated with antiques. Hotel is in walking distance to the center of Amboise, not even 5 minutes, it is that close. There is a large free parking lot for hotel customers. Hotel has also a famous restaurant called “le 36” with enchanting views of La Loire, you can give it a try too if you like fine dining
