The reception is a building site, be warned because no one else will mention it ! The receptionist did assure me it is in the small print of every booking platform but it is well hidden in my experience. After the shock of the state of the place and the lift’s filthy interior things improved in seeing the room. Had a renovated room in the 7th floor which was well equipped and comfortable bed and pillows. Shower was great and all clean and new. It would be good to give travellers a clear heads up on the scale of the work and the potential impact of the noise and disruption. That would be fairer on the traveller and the reception team who are clearly dealing with shocked visitors every day !! No concessions for the disruption either, just push back to ‘it’s on the booking websites that we are under renovation’ Appreciate renovations are needed but the communication could be managed much better.

We had a great experience staying at the Fairfield Inn in Charelston. We are not saying everything was perfect, but what is! However, when we did have an issue it was immediately and with the utmost professionalism. Unfortunately, I can not remember the name of the woman who checked us in, but she was delightful at check-in and throughout the entirety of our stay. There was also another woman who worked the front desk, Avianna, who was extremely kind and went above and beyond to assist our family when we had a personal problem. The staff at the Fairfield was all around amazing and why we will be staying at the Fairfield the next time we are in town

Please pardon my English, I am from Germany and don’t have enough words to describe a terrible place like this... To come to the point: the stay in this hotel was the worst experience during our entire trip (3 weeks). When I think about it: it was the the worst stay in a hotel ever. It was like living on a huge construction site: dirty, messy, and noisy in the morning. 1 of the 2 antique elevators did not work, at the end I took the stairs and carried our 4 big travelbags. But the worst was our room (# 427, renovated): the smell of glue was so strong that my wife and me got headache and cough. We did not even have to think about sleeping in this “room”, so we changed the it (# 202). This one was old, half-renovated and dirty. We were happy to leave after 1 of 2 booked nights, but it still hurts, when I think of having paid for a room like this. The second night we spent in the Sleep Inn Convention Center and it was much better.

We booked this room during our 3 week trip between NY and Miami in the summer of 2010 . The rooms are really comfortable, and very large, en suite. You have first a salon with a sofa, and then the bedroom. The bed was sooooo comfortable, we slept so well, it was a delight ! The AC was perfect, we had no noise whatsoever, it was perfect from the price we paid. It was also spotlessly clean, and decorated to our tastes. The breakfast was quite correct as well. We would return there without a doubt

As soon as we walked in we saw a woman at the front desk complaining about her stay. Not the best way to start off the trip. We had reserved a non-smoking room with a single king size bed. Upon entering the room, it was evidently clear that the room had been recently smoked in. The room just did not feel clean. And many of the reviews were spot on about the mold in the bathroom. I also remember waking up in the middle of the night to find that I pulled the sheet off the mattress accidentally. There was a nice stain from who knows what sitting there on the mattress. Parking was also horrendous. When I saw zero available spots in the parking lot, I was advised by the staff to park on the side of the building. The staff was helpful though, and did their best to accommodate for our needs.

This is the absolute worst hotel mankind has ever known. The pictures you see online are not anywhere close to what this hotel actually looks like. The elevators didn’t work, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall and there were construction supplies strewn about in common areas (e.g., the workout facility was full of buckets of drywall and tools). When I attempted to cancel because of the condition of the hotel they still charged me because it was the day of check-in. When I attempted to plead my case that the hotel was in nowhere near the condition in which it was sold on the web site, the hotel staff told me to pound salt. I filed formal complaints with both the Corporate office and my credit card company. Do NOT stay at this place. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!

We arrived late the first night and was probably given the last available room, which was ok, newly renovated. However, they were renovating other rooms on the floor and actually blocked the stairway at one point, blocked the hallway at one point, and couldn't use the elevator (we were on fifth floor). The second day we left a tip for the maid service. Well, the maid came in, took the towels, took the tip and left! When we complained to the desk, they were not too interested in helping us. My husband called the 800 number and filed a complaint but could not file one officially until after we had checked out. This hotel was given poor reviews in the past but some newer ones were better so we decided to try it. There was a fridge and micro in room which was nice. Location not so hot but convenient. We have never had an experience like this. We cannot go back to this hotel.

This hotel was under renovations, but what we experienced could not only be the result of renovations. The whole hotel from the lobby, hallways and the rooms were filthy. There was a terrible stench in the hallway and in our room. There were also cigarette burns all over the carpeting. Stains on the pillows. We had booked three nights and ended up leaving after the 2nd night. There was only one working elevator that had to be shared with the maids and their carts which took a long time. Overall the staff tried to keep up a friendly demeanor, but we could tell working under these conditions were getting to some.

Over $100 for a room and they don't even care about you. No hot water. When asked about it they said it should be on “now”, they repeated the same answer for 2 hours before I took a cold shower. Even though it says close to downtown it is close to nothing except a hospital and an interstate. You cannot walk to anywhere from here. Would rather stay few miles away from downtown and pay half the price.

It takes a lot to be the worst hotel ever. Unclean property, noise everywhere, terrible customer service, aggresive managers. This hotel has it all!. I have read many reviews from fellow travelers describing how bad this propertry is and yet I decided to ignore them. What a bad a decision I made and paid a high price for it. After realizing I was not going to be able to sleep I left the hotel and was verbally offended by the manager (Erick, who told me "I have no idea why I need to speak to you" after telling to get lost). At the front desk, Denisse tricked me into the idea that she would find me another property to move to, which of course she did not and then ended up charging me even though thet did not fullfill their commitment to "make it right". She also turned aggressive on me. This is without any doubt the worst hotel ever. Do yourself a favor. If you are in Charleston do not risk enjoying this great city by staying at this property. I wonder why Comfort Inn corporate office does not do anything about this hotel after so many bad reviews.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Rooms were roomy and clean. Beds were comfortable.. Nice large TV. Only negative was the breakfast was very basic. No juice, just coffee to drink that we could find.

Love the new look. I’ve been staying with you for over 20 years and it looks great. We were in room 501 which is now my favorite. I’m disabled and love the new step in shower. Suggestion; there is no where to plug my charger in on the left side of the bed.
