Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston Historic District

I liked the variety the had for breakfast and that you could make your own waffles. The kids like that.

Taylor was amazing! Super friendly and helpful with check-in. Staff were always saying hello and seemed genuine. Hotel breakfast was standard but filling.

We arrived earlier than the 4pm check-in time and the friendly and helpful staff arranged for us to leave our luggage while the valet parking took care of our car. The staff gave us a map and pointed us in the right direction for the Visitors' Center a block or so away from which we took the no fare trolley for a circuit of the Historic District while waiting for a text letting us know our room was ready. When we hadn't heard anything by 5 pm, we returned to the hotel and asked about our room, we were quickly taken care of and given a room. That was the only slight hiccup in a lovely stay. The room was bright and clean and we loved the small kitchen facilities which allowed us to brew a cup of tea and to store a small bag of apples we had brought with us in the fridge. The hotel was within easy walking distance of restaurants within a mile along the somewhat busy restaurants and shops along King Street. Breakfast the next morning was quite good. We only stayed for one night but should we return to Charleston, we plan to stay at the hotel again as the location is good, the kitchenette would be beneficial for a longer stay, and the staff are cheerful. The Charleston Visitors' Center is awesome by the way and the no fare trolley, 211, we took was very much appreciated.

Comfortable, clean, convenient to shopping and restaurants. Many places are walkable, there is a free shuttle bus (the 211), or an inexpensive Uber ride. Spacious room with small kitchen. Comfortable bed.

One of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever been to. A lot of homeless people around the hotel, it didn’t make me feel very safe. But location itself was very convenient.

Excellent hotel. The one issue is housekeeping. They do the bare minimum. However the staff is amazing.

Our stay in Charleston was great. The Homewood was good and everything is walking distance if you don’t mind going the few miles. My only legit concern was our hotel door didn’t shut tight unless pulled. Twice during our cleaning, when we got back in the evening, our door was left “open” or not latched and anyone could have went in. That is very concerning considering our personal things were inside. The beds were comfortable, and our bartender was a fun time. Shout out to Sheldon. Hoping to make it back to Charleston soon!

Overall a good place to stay. My only problem was that the couch sofa was not comfortable.
