Checked into the hotel has started off with bad front desk service right off the bat. Then when we got to the room our key card did not work, had to go back down to get it reloaded. Was told if you get it close to your cell phone it will deactivate. (One lady said she had to go down 3 times). The. We got into the room and it smelled like straight mold. Just a overall bad experience at this hotel. Will not stay here ever again. Coffee was good though
I rate this hotel low based on other Fairfield and Marriott Properties I stayed at. I request a soft mattress or two mattress covers on top mattress. . The request was made electronically when I make a reservation and I call the front desk. One week prior to visit, I got to speak to general maanger on phone. She said her bed do ”NOT” contain matress pads. I asked for an extra comforer or blanket in the room so I could sleep on top of the bed. When I arrived, the front desk confirmed the requests. However, neither the blanket or the extra matress cover/matress pad. However, there was one matress pad. When I walked through the hotel, the linen colest was left wide open. There I saw shelves of extra mattress pads and linens. After consulting with the front desk, i removed one mattress pad/cover and installed in on top the bed. (I had to make it as requested). The hotel itself needed a lot of repairs. Duck tape was used to hide carpet cuts. Exercise room equipment did not work. The guest washer and dryer did not work well. The steam of the water in the washer was very low. Normally a washer will take 20-30 minutes. This washer took 1.5 hours and did not rinse the soap out of my clothes. The dryer had a damper (removing moister from clothes) issue. The clothes were still damp after two dryer cycles. When I asked at front desk, the washer and dryer were like that for several months. The only good thing about this property was the breakfast. The staff person (M-Thursday) layed out a good spreak of food (including sausage/hot meat) every day. The waffle iron needed cleaning. Every waffle made that week stuck to the grill. Finally, the General Manager did not leave her email or contact informaiton out for guest to contact her. I can NOT reccoment a Fairfield/Marriott hotel when my stay was this bad. If I have a choice, I will stay at a non-Marriott property in Charlotte. +
We found this hotel very nice with reasonable rates. Bob P at the front desk was very pleasant and welcoming, thanking us for using our Marriott/Bonvoy membership more than once. We even got a little treat box. We had a king room with couch, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was mostly grab and go, but there was also a waffle maker. The fruit was not the freshest. The premade egg and sausage patties were convenient for making a biscuit sandwich. We would stay here again.
