This was our first visit to the Old Harbor Inn in Chatham, MA. We saw that the weather was going to be nice despite it being late October, so I went online and found that The Old Harbor Inn had one room available. I booked it for my husband and myself, hopped in the car, and headed to Cape Cod not knowing what to expect. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Ray and Judy. They are truly welcoming. We were given a tour of their “home” along with tips and information to make our stay enjoyable. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a lovely hand-written note wishing us a happy anniversary. Our accommodations were comfortable and convenient. We stayed in the Ryder’s Cove room which has a private entrance and small outdoor patio. We parked feet from the entrance and only had a very short distance (and no stairs) to carry our belongings in. The breakfasts were delicious and Ray and Judy graciously accommodated my gluten-free diet. We took full advantage of the abundant fresh baked goods, chocolates, snacks, soda, coffee, tea, and water that are available 24 hours. There was even a basket of snacks in our room along with juices and soda in the refrigerator. Ray and Judy are very knowledgeable about the area and are a great source of information. We loved listening to the history of the Chatham movie theater and learning about the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge. We just wish our room had been available for a few more nights, but it’s easy to see why they were fully booked. Oh well, we’ll just have to go back.
