濱河之家酒店(Riverside House Hotel)

Abbiamo soggiornato per tre notti, camere ampie, luminose e con ottima pulizia. Cambio biancheria quotidiano. Colazione abbondante, varia a buffet. Personale gentile e disponibile, ci ha permesso di lasciare i nostri bagagli per tre giorni senza chiederci neanche un bath per il deposito. Posizione ottima, a due passi dal night market e con vista fiume dal balcone, bellissima. Lo consiglio sia per lunghi che per brevi periodi.

Abbiamo trovato casualmente quest’hotel dopo aver deciso di lasciare la GH che avevamo prenotato a Chiang Mai perché molto sporca. Del Riverside ci ha colpito da subito la gentilezza del personale ma soprattutto la pulizia e la cura della struttura. Colazione a buffet varia e di buona qualità. Camere grandi, luminose, pulite e letto comodissimo. Lo consiglio

This is our third time at the Riverside House Hotel and it ticks all the boxes for us. The rooms are basic but comfortable. Breakfast is ok trying to cater for all cultures. It has a lovely small pool. What makes this place so good are the hard working and pleasant staff. The location suits our needs and we had a great 5 days in the old capital.

I stayed 7 days here. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. There are some small issues, but nothing to put someone off on staying here. One comment I hear about hotels in Thailand is water pressure and the lack of hot water. Here is a hint for those traveling in Thailand. If the hotel uses a wall mounted heater exchange, to get hotter water, reduce the water pressure going through the unit/ You do not usually lose much water pressure, but the water does heat up better. The location is pretty good for this hotel. There is a 7-11 next door, a supermarket around the corner, plenty of medium priced and mom/pop restaurants, a church campus a block and half away, and two blocks to the night market. If you are venturing into the old city, you can hike to it, but most would want to take a grab or maxim ride. Breakfast is nothing to write home about, but it does get you off to a good start in the mornings. the coffee cafe is a bit over-priced in my opinion. Internet had some disconnect problems if you are on your computer for a while. Simply restart the computer and it should restart. We did have an earthquake that began in Myanmar about 130 km. Building swayed. Nothing to get concerned about, but adds to the Chiang Mai story when talking to friends. I loved walking along the river, crossing the bridges, seeing the governor's house, and strolling through the side streets. Going to church on Sunday was a nice addition to my trip, meeting the pastor and the great people who came to service at 4:30 pm. The restaurant by the river near the hotel had some really good pad thai. It was fun listening to the Thai singers muddling their way through songs like Puff the Magic Dragon and other folk songs. For more of western flair food, Duke's is just a block away. Reasonably priced and good food for medium prices. For the price and location, this is a great choice. I wonder about the negative reviews offered. Perhaps they had higher expectations. Perhaps they should have paid to stay ar the Marriott a few blocks away, but maybe they would have found something to complain about there too. In Thailand, you have to have a completely different way of thinking. Bringing your home expectations with you will not serve you well in this culture. You need to be flexible, open-minded, and realize that you are a guest in their home, and not the other way around. If you keep this in mind, you stay will be much more enjoyable.

This is the second time I have stayed at Riverside House. The first was November 2019. Along came COVID and we were delayed in returning for four years. We were pleasantly surprised that the Hotel was still as good as it was before. The staff were helpful the rooms clean and looked after. The cafe still sold coffee for breakfast. Rooms cleaned each day. As others have mentioned, the beds can be hard. We asked if these could be amended and there was extra foam placed on the bed. We had comfortable sleep afterwards. Breakfast was included and was adequate. The Hotel itself is close to the Ping River and walk almost next door to a 7/11. The night markets are a five-minute walk from the Hotel. There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance as well as excellent Thai massage spas. we will be using this hotel again when we stay.

I've written many reviews of Riverside House before and I keep coming back - Consistently accommodating, clean, quiet, great breakfast and tremendous team that keeps guests like myself returning again and again. Thank you as always!

I can't praise this hotel enough. Great location,great pool area, fantastic coffee shop, excellent rooms. The location is perfect. Just to the side of the Iron Bridge, it's a nice stroll onto Loh Kroh road. That's where the main night life area is.To the left you have the Rimping Shopping store, which is catered to westerners, a 7/11 . To the right, about 3 minutes walk, you have the best pizza joint in town. The Dukes fantastic. I am coming back in June, but unfortunately can't stay here as it's so popular. My advice is, book early. Well done all that make this place so memorable . Thankyou.

Wonderful, kind, friendly staff! I felt very safe traveling here, both as a woman traveling solo, and as someone traveling while COVID-19 is still a factor. The place is quite open air--hallways, dining area, etc., which made me feel safe health-wise. And, the place also has solid security at night--cameras, locked front gate, etc. My room faced the river, which I enjoyed because I could look out over the city from my balcony, but others may find it too loud, and may prefer the rooms facing the pool. Perfect for me, though, as I'm someone who loves a balcony, a good drink, and people watching. I liked that the hotel/guesthouse was small and was filled with people my age (mid-40s) and older, and maybe one family with kids. Seemed a lot of retirees were here, too. A quiet crowd. For people new to Thailand, there may be some things about the place that take some getting used to, but that are typical to guesthouses there: hard bed, shower with no temperature adjustment, key into slot on wall for air conditioner to work, bidet/toilet paper goes into trash and not into toilet. Other things I loved: the breakfast (included in price) each morning had yummy fresh fruit and a mix of Thai and western dishes and you can sit right next to the pool while you eat: very peaceful. Also, you can get have your laundry done for a very reasonable price--drop off in morning, done by evening! Oh! And the location is great--just walk across the bridge, go a couple blocks and you're at the night market! There's also a western-type grocery store around the block and the ubiquitous 7-11 is a stone's throw. And a couple great restaurants are less than a block away, too!
