I love the Thompson hotel! We had a great stay here in this winter. I am sure it’s even better to stay here in the summer. This is a perfect downtown location if you are looking to relax, eat good food and also be a tourist. It’s a block away from Michigan Avenue so it’s not loud. It’s close by 360 if you want to be a tourist. We ended up taking the bus up and down Michigan Avenue since it was winter. You just need ApplePay if you don’t want to buy a pass. It is also a block away from Oak Street beach. The underpass to the beach is close! It is also close by great restaurants and bars! We loved the restaurant in the hotel— Nico Osteria. We also loved the Lux Bar across the street and Gibson steak house (best steak in the city). The hotel room was clean and spacious! The bed was so comfy. The best part of this room is the shower! This is by far the best hotel shower I have been in lately. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends visiting Chicago!

Was really excited to stay here but upon arrival we were told there were no rooms available even though we had a reservation AND I called ahead to confirm that we had a reservation and were all good 48 hours prior. We were offered stay and transportation at their sister hotel. The transportation took almost 40min to arrive, they gave our taxi to someone else. We called our own Uber because we were going to miss our dinner reservation that took a month to reserve. Next time, I hope they are better prepared for a situation like this. We were so excited to stay here and this really disappointed me beyond belief

Everything is for recommendation but big complaint about ac-heat pump in the room. My daughter complaint about breathing hard over night. I sneezed all the night! We decide to turn of AC. But AC stay on ! I open door of AC to try manually to turn off. But big surprise for me! Filter insinde looks like never replaced! Extremely dirty! I have photos but here is not option for uploading. Complain to front desk but just was like thanks for updating and we are sorry! Please guys from hotel change a filters , we dont have options to open a window.

I would def not be back here. Checkin was horrible. Room wasn’t ready and never got text message as promised! Front desk, lady on the phone claims that she’s manager on duty( Irina) was obnoxious, rude, disrespectful, not helpful at all. Service sucks, I requested some water and called 3 times, finally they showed up after 2 hours later. Ridiculous!

Our stay was great!!! It felt like we were in the heart of everything food, shopping, and scenery. The only the I would add is a microwave. We had to throw away all of our leftovers because the room did not come with a microwave. Otherwise, our stay there was great!!!

The overall stay was disappointing due to lack of quality service in the Bar and Valet areas. As a black couple we felt like we were not getting the same level of service and help as other people, and only excuses and attitude, when asked why.

Loved the spaciousness of the room. The bathroom was really nice. Easy walk to Oak St.and Michigan Ave.
