We went to Commune18 with family. After checkin we went to the play area and forgot our bag (containing iPad) kept on the chair beside the chess board . The area is under cctv surveillance.After realising the bag is missing and searching it everywhere ourselves , we kept on asking the staffs to look for the bag. They showed us the footage of us keeping the bag on chair but they could not find the footage of anyone picking up the bag. Not sure how the bag just vanished. This was a horrible experience, we have been to multiple resorts but something like this never happened. It was really easy for the resort staff to find the bag looking at the footage’s. There were very few guests also , so finding it was much easier. The cottages leak when it rains.

I recently visited Commune 18 for a night. I will speak from price point of view, I paid approx 5.8k in total. The place, vibe and location were pretty amazing we booked last minute so only got a room. They really need to work on quality of room with price they are charging, it was pretty bad. The washroom were stinking and the water pressure was very low. Didn't provide soap. Thes all things are pretty basic to expect. Will not recommend this stay for the price.

There is plenty of everything if you booked the room to sleep at night. TV is also there. It is very close to most tourist places in chikkamagalur. Staff is also very helpful. I went with my family (4people) and the washrooms are also good.

The rooms looked clean but the floors were extremely dirty making our legs dirty too. There was fluctuation in electricity as well. The food tasted very good as we all like spicy food for ppl who like mild they will have to specify it. There was no television in the room , no hand towels in the resort . The games were also not that great as in the carrom board coins were missing and there was only one shuttle cock. Overall the experience was not bad but not that great too.

The property is lovely, spacy, and quiet with a nice scenic view. We arrived during the week and were the only guests. The staff were very friendly and did their best to ensure we enjoyed our time. In the restaurant they adjust the menu to our western taste (e.g. zero spicy) and recommended a wonderful day trip including ordering a local driver and communicating with him on our behalf. Highly recommended for a quick vacation next to nature. Since we came in mid-week, we didn't have a chance to enjoy the fireside chat with other guests.

Dividing my review into 2 parts - one as a pet parent and the other in general If you value your pets and want to have a good time without worrying it’s advised to not go here. The owner has 2 dogs who are very friendly towards people but the situation changes when there is another large male dog in the resort. Yesterday I had gone there with my GSD who is very friendly and was playing with everyone including the guests. I was cautious to make sure not to have the dogs meet coz it would result in a fight. I had checked with the staff multiple times on the whereabouts of the owners dog and only then took my dog around the area the whole day At night when the staff confirmed the dog is tied I took my dog down on the leash as always The indie dog came out of nowhere and attacked my dog. By seeing this even the friendly golden ret started attacking my dog. It was 2 dogs aganist one harmless dog who was making friends with people there My dog and me didn’t even see the dog coming. At all times my dog was on leash and never for a min he was off leash. However the owners aggressive dog roams around carefree. It seems he does not have an understanding of the dog behaviour. Even the guests admitted that it wasn’t my dogs fault at all. His only mistake was to not see the aggressive owners dog running towards him to attack The owner did mention that he has dogs but one assumes that the dogs will be in control if you are calling it a pet friendly place. Owner himself says that the indie is aggressive. As a result I had to cut short my trip and left the very next morning. Owner was kind enough to refund the amount. If you wanna have a good time with your pet and don’t want him to get attacked, this place should be avoided. If you are reading this as a pet parent you will understand the issue. The idea to take your pet out on a vacation is for him to be carefree and not get attacked. In general, Overall the place is good but for 6 K per night the room isn’t worth. The wifi does not come in the room, the network also will not come here, no tv, and no signage’s from the main road. Water pressure is very low in the bathroom The approach road has some very bad patches of broken road which I am guessing is under repair The location is good and the place is very well done. Lot of effort has gone into it. Just giving 1 star basis the exp that ruined the whole trip.

Such an amazing place! We booked 5 bunk beds for our stay. The room was very clean, the food is also good. The best thing about the place is the Bonfire that they organise every day after around 9pm, you can play loud music in the common area as well. Very friendly staff. They have options for private rooms as well. Its a photogenic place in itself, we had a dedicated photo session within the resort.

The cottage was barely functional. Broken commode (it used to get unhinged from the base if you shifted your bed a bit). The roof is tin! After 10-11am the cottage are furnaces. The picture shows the terracotta tiles as the pictures are always from the front. The cottage/room roof and the toilet roof is tin! Just tin! I couldn’t even sit around the property as it was mosquito everywhere, but not a lot of places. Also, cottages are not cleaned daily, neither were sheets fresh. Also, if you are looking for quiet at night you better not head there - as music is blared from a giant speaker after 9-10pm. Also, there isn’t a hostel experience at all. Location is right off the highway and even though not loud or disturbing you do clearly hear those vehicle sounds and horns. Large property. Lots of walking space; but only on the property as it’s next to highway. It’s not very close to the town, it’s not in the woods or middle of nature really either. However the property has enough vegetation and a part of property is surrounded by a narrow moat or stagnant and not very clean water. The staff were good. The owners were good and helpful. But they were busy making the new part of the property. Overall it was a bad experience and biggest cause of disappointment was tin roof. They do not mention it anywhere. Maybe owners should shut the old accommodations down until they finish work on new one so that they can give some attention to the upkeep of the old place as well. Sumner heat is one thing, having tin on the cottage roof is just plain callous and poor.
