The restaurant and bar were closed during our stay. We were not told prior to check-in.
The checkout was even more stressful. More than the prescribed amount, $50 more, was charged to my debit card on the day of check-in. When I professionally inquired with Addie at the front desk, I was told that it is a regular practice to overcharge for expected incidentals and, then, I should be credited in approximately 2 days. We’ll see.
Addie’s peer, decided to step in and combatively school me on hotel procedures. I am a world traveler and do not require such lessons. When I said that the hotel may be making interest on all of its clients’ money between the overcharge and the refund she became even more belligerent. Her name was similar to Monique. She kept sarcastically saying, “Have a great new year!”
This occurrence wiped out any pleasure from the stay. It was to have been a respite from caring for my elderly parent. It was our 1st at The Summit and will be our last.
