Perfect stay for concert at Royal Albert, just two minutes walk away. A fantastic location for anyone visiting the museums, Hyde Park and Kensington area. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive, delicious breakfast and the room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It’s a very traditional hotel, with beautiful original features. Some areas of the hotel are in need of updating, there was a note about the carpets being due for renewal from the manager. We were also surprised that an optional service charge for dining and cleaning staff was added to our bill, however this was removed when I queried it. All the staff were lovely and created a great atmosphere, so it wasn’t that I felt they didn’t deserve to be recognised, but when we had already blown our budget on the stay, it was an extra charge we weren’t expecting. We will definitely be back if we ever get the chance to go to the Albert Hall again.

If it's a high end, clubby English feel you're looking for, look no further. The hotel is beautifully appointed and decorated, and it was a mostly brilliant stay. The location is terrific, and Jimmy(?) the concierge is the best. The only major drawback was the extremely slow wifi in the room and public areas, which prevented me from doing work on my laptop.

Staff went above and beyond to make stay incredible. Hotel is old though and therefore not worth the cost. Our bed tilted so bad we had to sleep with pillows at foot of bed. If the staff was not so amazing I would’ve asked for some kind of discount.

We have stayed here before so thought we'd book again. Unfortunately the milk provided with the complimentary tea&coffee was out of date. We only realised this after making myself a cup of tea and realising it didn't taste right, so looked at the milk (assuming a hotel of this calibre would check this). This led to a 6 hour period where I was unable to move very far from the toilet somewhat ruining my experience. We mentioned this on check out, and due to what I perceive as a language barrier the bit where I said I was "quite ill" was missed. There was no point mentioning at the time of incidence as not a lot anyone could do. The bar was unavailable for the first night, meaning we would've had ot pay extra for room service, the breakfast was expensive but pleasant, though a couple of options were not available.

The rooms are waaay too hot even in winter (I stayed in two different rooms and had a friend in a third room) and there's absolutely no climate control. If you don't care about getting a good night's sleep, go ahead and book the Gore. Also the location is convenient to just about nothing.

Superb staff, great location for the Royal Albert Hall, however some issues. Firstly there are some condition issues. The biggest issue was the need to "Book" a seat in the hotel bar!! It is clear they cater to the RAH visitors, but as a paying resident I do deeply feel that this is really something you should not have to do. The room was fabulous, comfortable, very clean, but one or two condition issues (we had room 106), the most obvious were the three tiles cracked in the bathroom. Still recommended for the quality staff and location if you are seeing a show at the RAH. 10 minutes to two underground stations for access to greater London.

It’s in a great location and the breakfast was high quality. What let’s the hotel down however are: I paid for an included breakfast but was stung with a service charge not mentioned anywhere; I booked a junior suite. For the high cost, it’s not unreasonable to expect functioning heat in the suite and in the bathroom. I reported this on discovery to Reception and was told a night porter would attend. More than an hour later this had not been attended to so, being tired, went to bed. In the morning, Reception had no record and no refund was offered. Sorry Gore Hotel, you’ll never see us again. You can and should do much better than this.

Fabulous concierge service. Hotel common areas a bit shaby, but being upgraded. Tiny inconvenient rooms. Only one chair in room. Had to sit on bed. Excellent breakfast, but restaurant not open for dinner. Great location for Albert Hall.
