This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in - comfortable beds, extremely clean room with everything you could possibly want - a safe, tea and coffee, a fridge, a place to put the suitcases, plenty of wardrobe space, a desk, water and fruit, immaculate WC and seperate bathroom, even a shoe horn. We also had a picturesque balcony. The staff were friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. The location was great, direct bus links to the centre and also to the airport. Luggage lockers are also avaislble to enable you to leave cases. There's a lift and wider doors provide good accessibility. The hotel is newly decorated and offer a clean, modern, comfortable respite - highly recommended. Across the road is a very nice bakery and to the right of the florist shop opposite the hotel is a footpath over a little brook to an authentic Austrian restaurant where the traditional food and beers served are outstanding and very reasonable. This hotel is perfectly located to enjoy this and many other Maxglan eateries. The hotel also has scenic views of the mountains.
All good. Clean and nice apartment, easy downtown reaching with public transport, easy check in. But one big bug: the reservation was for an apartment with conditioned air, it was not true: only two (old) fans. The apartment was very hot at night, the fans wasn't enough, it wasn't possible to keep the windows open, because it wasn't safe being at ground floor; under the linens, on the mattress, there was a plastic protection that made the bed like an oven. Very difficult nights. At the end of our holiday we wrote to the direction about this incongruity, and consequent difficulty, no answer. It's a pity: a very good structure, a potentially wasteful service.
This is not my first visit to Salzburg. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of major attractions. It has recently been renovated and is very modern. I thought the rooms were a bit sterile. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient and gave great recommendations for dinner. The breakfast was only adequate by European standards and cooked to order service was slow. There is a garden bar/coffee shop just outside of the hotel. It closes much too early when the restaurant is fully booked. We dined at the hotel restaurant on our last evening. The service was slow and the food mediocre. I was most disappointed to be served a Salzburger Nockerl that was undercooked, deflated, and resembled runny eggs. I've had this special dessert before and I complained to the waiter. He insisted it was correct - it most certainly was not! The dessert should have been credited on our bill. I might stay at this hotel again but cannot recommend the restaurant.
訪訪客We had a wonderful experience in this B&B. The room was clean, which echoed with all the reviews here. You could experience the passion and perseverance of the owners in keeping everything not only neat and tidy, but amazingly dustless and spotless! If you look at the mirror, and the tissue box in the toilet, the level of shine and reflection is at its top! The bed was big and comfortable. The design of the room was modern. Tea and coffee are available inside the room.
Breakfast comprised of a wide variety of fresh fruits chopped into small cubes and delicately put into little cocktail glasses, all sorts of bread, yoghurt, ham, spreads. Alex would welcome all customers warmly with offerings of coffee, tea and eggs that were made by him. I saw on reviews that he made perfect eggs and it was really true! The fried eggs that I ordered were prepared with crispy edges, what a morning delight!
All the details and passion ( and the amount of time and dedication one can imagine) that this family put into this B&B deserve a 5-star rating. From its hardware to attitude, this is the best I have ever experienced as a tourist.
訪訪客Cocoon Salzburg - 10-13 July 2022 done both not all pix only the room This hotel is almost right across from the train station, on a corner, very easy to find - white 7 story building with a big butterfly outline on the glass doors. Inside the lobby is part of the bar and breakfast room. Checkin is super friendly. Room is small but wins the cuteness prize. Carpeting and walls in hallway all green with small leafy patterns like in a jungle. Bed is firm and very comfy, bedding is an interesting weave feeling like soft cotton paper, and 4 big fluffy pillows. No amenities in room such as phone, electric kettle or coffee makers, or even a small fridge. Has safe however. The hanging rattan chair is cute but takes up some room. Day couch by the window, no tables, night stands or desk - or chair for that matter (no room anyway). The most minimal amount of furniture, the idea I guess is all about lounging around so you don't ever need to sit up anywhere. Not much surface to layout stuff just a sort of narrow shelving on the wall next to the TV. Bathroom also tiny but everything is new and modern and the rain shower is the best ever. Takes a bit of maneuvering to get our two large suitcases settled. We are on the 6th floor so have a bit of view of mountains over the top of a building across the street. Windows have electrically controlled shutters outside (push button inside). You get a nice bar of chocolate and 5 euros for opting out housekeeping (although they said something about not continuing this practice). Floor uncarpeted. Aircon good. Wifi seems pretty fast. Nightlight under the bed is motion sensitive, so it comes on whenever you are moving around the room. Breakfast is good with scrambled and pre shaped fried eggs, sausage and bacon-like ham. Good selection of pastries and croissants and breads. Half dozen different kinds of tea all loose so need to scoop into a teabag in order to steep which is interesting and pretty fancy. Selection of cold meats as well and cheese. Tomato, cucumber and fruit. They don't check to see if you have breakfast included which is strange because it's extra charge for breakfast so not automatically included in all rooms. Overall a pretty good breakfast and food gets replenished pretty quickly. Seating tends to run out at peak time and people will ask to share your table if there is room.
訪訪客Had such a fantastic stay here! We were very happy with the size of the room, it was very spacious. The staff were very kind to us during our five night stay, when we arrived they were very helpful helping us understand transport routes and bus times ( the hotel is situated across the street from the bus station that takes you into central Salzburg in only a few minutes) The breakfast is very good with many options of hot and cold food as well as cakes. The highlight has to be how QUIET it is! It was so quiet and peaceful in our room and this means a lot to me because I am sound sensitive. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay here.
訪訪客The location, price and cleanliness was very nice. However the kitchen was terrible, not a single mug, glas or bowl. One morning the pots and pans were gone, I tried asking at the reception but no one there at the time spoke English. But worst of all was that our room was overbooked, one night when me and our friend got back we found someone sleeping in one of our beds and all other beds full. Will not return.
