Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a golfing trip with friends to the Open at Troon. Perfect base for the golf and Loch Lomond. Great little hotel, very good breakfast at very reasonable price, really friendly staff, comfy bed, very clean and tidy and excellent value overall. It could do with a bit of a refurb, floor squeaks and windows not double glazed means there is a little road noise, but absolutely not complaining - for the price it is a gem of a place.
Our experience at this hotel went from bad to worse from the day we got there. It all started with the hotel not giving us the right details a week before we started. The call received from a lady informed us that the lesuire facilities would be closed for one day. But when we got there we were told the spa/lesuire facilities would be closed until March 2025. Rebecca the manager after we complained offered us a refund but we had to decline as after a 5hr drive and the bad weather we didn’t know where else to go. Eventually we got to our room where we requested a lack view which we got but there was no bath. To make matters worse there was digging equipment outside our room. As soon as we saw this we requested to room as we also wanted a bath. Rebecca informed us that we didn’t request this but she would try send someone over to show us other room. Angela came over and was brilliant as she could see I wasn’t happy at all especially as we booked a 7 night stay and what we came for (a relaxing stay) wasn’t available with the spa closed throughout our stay. Angela eventually got us a really nice room with a bath and a river view. Three days later we had to move as there was a bees nice by our room which meant bees were coming through the window and the air vent in the bathroom which meant we had to move. Because I wanted a bath there was no river view room so we had a room with the garden view which was lovely. On the last night (Saturday) there was a wedding which meant it was very noisy as we could here the DJ until 12am on top of that they had a power outage 3 times Especially that evening. Overall I would not stay at this hotel nor recommend it to anyone as the hotel chose to lie before we got there as they wanted our money. So for me this hotel is all about profitability than anything else. Yes we were offered a refund but once we got there, which is too late especially if your not from Scotland and there was no recommendation of were to go. Rebbeca did offer us two spa day ticket for when they reopened which is in March but like I said we wouldn’t travel 5hr just for a spa day. This hotel should have done a lot better staying by tell guest the truth.
From arriving at reception we got a warm welcome from reception staff and it continued from all staff in restaurant we had been to a wedding here couple years back and always meant to come back and stay brought my 80 yr old in laws with us and they loved it beautiful Hotel and grounds will definitely be back Thank you Ingleston for super weekend 😀
Worst hotel I've stayed in, in a long time. Not worth the £95 paid! Firstly when I selected a twin room on this website the picture it showed wasn't the picture of the room I got. The hotel need to work with any website advertising their property to ensure customers are not misled. Secondly, it wasn't clear, when booking on this site, that the hotel had a nightclub attached which would affect our stay (a Saturday night). We only found this out when checking in. I'd actually call Lomond Park a nightclub with rooms rather than a hotel. Our room itself had two completely different single beds in it. One had a white wooden frame & during our very short one night stay both the headboard and footboard on the bed fell off. My bed was just a base, no headboard meaning you couldn't even sit up in bed to watch TV or read as the wall was too far behind. Both beds were EXTREMELY uncomfortable & both my sister & I had a very uncomfortable night's sleep. You could pretty much feel every single spring in the matress. Also the side of the radiator fell off. The cleanliness of the carpet, walls & curtains was extremely questionable. To top it all off we decided to escape the room and go down to the bar for a drink only to find the bar absolutely stank of vomit. Safe to say I would not recommend anyone stay here.
Just finished another overnight experience at Cameron House. Once again a fantastic experience. The service from the front door concierge guys/girls is warm and welcoming. The room overlooking the Loch was superb and the mattress is the best I have ever slept in. We did several experiences including the Spa, Loch cruise and the Seaplane and the highlight was definitely the seaplane trip over the Loch and surrounding areas. Can highly recommend this even if you’re not staying at the hotel. We also did the whisky and Gin tasting in the Great Scots Bar, big shout out to George who did the Gin Tasting, very informative and funny, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Our dinner we had as a private dining experience as there was 10 of us in the group. The service was excellent with 7 staff looking after us. Fantastic Beef Shin with a to die for ‘Jus’. But the highlight for me was the Sticky Toffee Pudding (also called Date pudding) I have eaten a lot of these in many restaurants and this by far was the best I have ever tasted. Breakfast is superb, and although the restaurant was extremely busy I have never seen Cameron House with so many staff. Yes a lot of them are young but they have to learn sometime. I ordered a simple ham and cheese omelette and I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve had. Some great chefs working at the hotel. Overall another great visit for us at a quite stunning location.
