This was our introduction to the highlands. Although the hotel was fine, it definitely had some quirks. It is perhaps the best hotel in Goroka, but that does not say much. The room was large. We had a room that overlooked the garden. This was relatively quiet, save for the 5 am rooster chorus! The bathroom has a shower with hot water. Our shower's faucet handles kept falling off. As they were metal knobs, this was a bit precarious with soapy hands. The shower has a metal base, which is also a bit slippery. The room had a ceiling fan, but as the highlands in July are pretty cool, we did not need it. There was no working WIFI, although you will be given a WIFI code. Breakfast is ”ok.” But the restaurant is embarrassingly slow. We needed at least 90 minutes to order, receive food, and pay. Often, what is on the menu is not available. The food is ”ok”, but highly inconsistent.
