Very cozy and out of the way

Breakfast staff, and breakfast, was good. The room, once we used our shoulders to open the stuck door, was modern and updated. But downhill from there. Room phone did not work, despite being reported to front desk staff on three occasions. Room was not cleaned the last night we were there, and when I asked the front desk for towels I was told housekeeping had gone home and there’was nothing she could do. Lobby was being renovated and smelled like cleaning fluid, or some other kind of chemical. When I reported my concerns, in what I believed to be a constructive way, the general manager said the hotel was short staffed on weekends, that the front desk should have given me, towels, and that she would “ look into it,” and get back to me. Thus far, no response. For my three night stay, and my friends two night stay, we paid well over $600. That amount deserves better treatment.
