卡薩科洛尼亞酒店(Hotel Casa Colonia)

Das Hotel befindet sich in einem ehem. Mietshaus der Gründerzeit. Fassade, Eingangshalle und Treppe sind original erhalten. Die Empfangsdame war freundlich. Weil die Rezeption nur bis 15h besetzt ist, sollte man vorzeitig einchecken, um etwaige Änderungswünsche noch erfüllt zu bekommen. Mein EZ war groß, hell und ruhig zum Hof, hatte allerdings einen PVC-Boden. Die Heizung konnte man im Zimmer individuell regulieren. Das Bett war breit, bequem und war mit Baumwollbezügen versehen. Das kleine Bad bot eine große Dusche, allerdings keinerlei Ablagemöglichkeit. Das Frühstück war leider etwas mager. Hier hätte ich mir mehr Sorten an Brötchen, auch Kölner Leber- und Blutwurst (alias Flöns) und mehr Käse, wie den in Köln beliebten mittelalten Gouda, gewünscht.

At roughly the same price as the Marriott up the street, I expected a bit more in terms of quality, preparedness, amenities, and comfort (especially the bed). Happy to choose a lower-priced, small-business hotel close to the train station, but disappointed to find that the bathroom hand soap dispenser was empty, there were only two tissues left in the tissues box, and the phone didn't work. These are easily fixed upon turning over the room, so why weren't they? Reception closes at 17:00...but couldn't call them anyway. Could be a much better hotel, and I wish them the best.
