瑪尼帕提酒店(Maniumpathy Hotel)

We had booked this place for two days. We liked the idea that it is a boutique hotel. However, as soon as we entered we found that although it is very beautiful place but it is very small. It would have been better if they had advertised themselves as an upscale Airbnb. If you rent the whole house for yourself with lesser staff in it, then there is possibility that one can enjoy this place more. There is a drawing room, which you can’t use because it is small and everybody uses the same for movements. There is a small veranda which is converted to restaurant and a small pool is also in the same courtyard. That means you can’t use this pool as there is no privacy at all. Our room was on the first floor. It was very beautiful and tastefully decorated. Bathroom area was also elaborated. However, functionality wise both were not okay. To add to our discomfort, there was a party in the evening, therefore, we couldn’t go to the dining area for dinner. They offered to arrange our dinner in the balcony area outside of our room but we declined. There was noise till late night due to the ongoing party. The manager apologised for the inconvenience however, we decided to check out next morning. Additionally, there is no assistance during 10 to 7 at night. Which is weird as it is very expensive place and yet they were not giving full services expected at this cost. We had breakfast in the morning which was good and checked out to Taj Samudra. We had a great sigh of relief when we reached at Taj Samudra.

The manager on site was very rude with a terrible attitude. At the time of lunch he kicked my party out due to a lack of parking provided by the hotel. there was no where else to park and they provide no parking at all. Due to that the manager asked us to leave since they couldn't accommodate our vehicle

This revamped colonial-era house, which now functions as a boutique hotel, serves a mix of local and fusion cuisine in a wonderful al fresco ambience. We enjoyed their Vietnamese Prawn & Pomelo Salad, Authentic Jaffna Thali, Creamy Seafood Pie, and Assam Pork with Yam Taeng on Coconut Rice. Their desserts were pretty good, too - we tried the Pina Colada Ice Cream Cake, Payasam and Mocha Mousse. They have an interesting list of fresh juice-based mocktails as well, which we quite enjoyed. The warm and friendly service for our table was led by Saman, who kindly showed us around the property, including two of the seven lovely rooms that they offer to guests. What's impressive is that Maniumpathy has managed to maintain a rich sense of colonial opulence while upgrading the place to a luxurious affair that offers contemporary comfort.

The best option for your stay on Colombo, the hotel is very beautiful, the rooms are clean, comfortable and very spacious. The staff are all lovely and ready to help in any questions or things you need, they also cook breakfast really well. We went for our honeymoon and can’t wait to come back in the future! A notre arrivée au Sri-Lanka nous avons découvert un lieu magnifique et très reposant. Cela a mis la barre très haut pour les hôtels suivants ! La maison est magnifique et meublées à l'ancienne, avec énormément de goût. Nous sommes arrivés alors qu'un mariage se déroulait dans l'hôtel et... pour se faire pardonner du bruit et de l'affluence, nous avons été surclassés dans une très belle suite au 1er étage, avec vue sur le patio et la piscine. La pièce et la salle de bain sont très vastes et vraiment joliment décorés. Le bruit n'a duré que quelques heures et cela valait la peine d'attendre car ensuite ce lieu a été vraiment un havre de paix, à l'écart de l'agitation de Colombo. Le personnel est très prévenant et à l'écoute. Tout a été fait pour que notre séjour soit parfait, malgré le mariage. Excellent petit déjeuner !

A tiny oasis in Colombo with exquisite old world charm. It was hard not to squeal with delight on seeing my room - exquisite taste, huge bedroom and even bigger bathroom with a separate dressing room, claw foot bath, separate rain shower and double sink. The canopy 4 poster king size bed was heaven. The balcony overlooked the beautiful lap pool and outdoor dining area. But even better were the staff - incredibly obliging, charming and always there to help. Breakfasts were brilliant - from fresh fruit to my favourite whicjh was a buffalo curd, avocado, lettuce and pomelo salad with an orange citrus dressing. The juice selection was great too. My Jaffna squid curry which was served at dinner was perfect. Not the biggest selection of alcoholic drinks but they did have Lion beer and were happy to open and keep a bottle of wine in the fridge for our consumption. Its a gem.

Wonderful boutique hotel in a quiet section of the city, but close enough to everything you want to see and do. The nicely renovated rooms are very large and very well equipped. All have balconies or patios. The pool in the middle of the courtyard was perfect at the end of a day or touring. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing. Lastly, the staff was super helpful and arranged rides from and back to the airport. Made for the perfect location at beginning and end of our travels in Sri Lanka.
