Travelodge Inn & Suites by Wyndham Albany

The hotel was disappointing and would never stay there again. The staff werent dressed professionally. When we walked in the hotel we instantly got a strong smell of cigarettes. It was terrible. When we got into our room the smell of cigarettes was terrible as well. The room didnt look clean at all. The bathroom was dirty as well. The shower curtain rod was damaged an coming out of the wall.

Initial interaction with hotel staff was poor (did not know if anything was around for food, rude, short and took time to get us checked in), the lady that checked us out was very pleasant though. Hotel smelled bad and rooms were not very clean. One of the worst hotels we have stayed in to be honest. Definitely not like other travel lodge inns we have stayed at before. Location was nice and close to highway, and surrounding area was nice!

The room smelled musty, one of the lights didn’t work, and I couldn’t turn on the bathroom lights without the really loud fan coming on. The front desk area smelled like cigarettes. The front desk staff were not behind the desk and seemed more interested in socializing or taking a smoke (right at the entrance!). I’ve stayed at other Wyndham hotels before and never experienced anything close to this bad.

I regret paying this price and wish I had read the reviews beforehand Arrived at 1:30PM and was told in no uncertain terms that room is not ready and to return at check-in time of 3PM. No 'you've come a long way, let me see what I can do for you'...nothing. Got hit by a heavy musty smell as soon as I opened the door, smell that never went away over the next 24 hrs. This isn't so surprising, the place hasn't seen a good cleanup and a fresh coat of paint in over 15 years or more.Toilet seat literally separated from the toilet !! AC was running but had to be turned off at night as it was unbearably loud. On the plus side, Whole Foods is across the street and Hannaford Supermarkets is less than 5 min drive north of there. Also right off I 87 North, which is a big plus. I stayed at other Travelodge locations in the past, but this is one is clearly the worst I've seen. Save your hard-earned money and book another motel.

The place is a dump, dirty and outdated. They do not clean the rooms between customers and the beds where full of hairs. Floors were dirty and so were the walls, sink and bath. We asked for another room and the other room was not better. Terrible place, not food even for just a night.

I stayed here one night of a two night stay. I was in town to take the NYS Bar Exam. I was woken up at 2:30 a.m. to hotel staff yelling at another guest that "he was drunk and could not go trying to get into other people's rooms." I was annoyed but tried to go back to sleep. A few moments later, someone was outside my door trying to get into my room. I called the front desk and she said he had been doing it all night (I just didn't wake up unil the yelling). She was going to call the police. A few more times this happened where my door handle was jiggling, and he was outside of my door talking. Another call to the front desk, but this time no answer. I emerged from my room to go get the front desk staff person, and I was I went around to the front desk, the police were walking in. This is now about 4 in the morning. I could not go back to sleep after that (and was going to get up for 5 anyway) so I made reservations for another hotel and began packing up and getting ready for my day (8 hours of sitting in a room with hundreds of people taking the most important test of my life). I had barely any sleep and felt the most unsafe I have ever felt in my life. I can deal with a dirty hotel room (because it was beyond dirty) but I cannot deal with zero sleep and feeling unsafe.
