The TripAdvisor ratings and price point ($295/night) set the expectation for an elegant stay. Not quite... by a good bit. If you are looking for an older, under maintained, over decorated B&B, here it is. But, it is not handicapped friendly (the limited parking is in back with entry steps that have no easy access to hand rails to prevent falls). We stayed in the Master King Suite. A large room with EVERY surface covered by knickknacks and memorabilia. Some folks may enjoy this kind of environment. We did not... even if the price had been one-half.

The experience @ Shadowlawn was wonderful. Burnette is a wonderful hostess who has a passion for her home & providing a first class experience for her guests! We felt so very welcomed. It was one of the best B & B experiences that my wife & I have had.

What a fabulous way to experience Columbus. A flagship of southern hospitality and an great experience to stay in a antebellum mansion. The inside is a huge collection of antiques and displays which we got a tour round thanks to Christine who did a wonderful job in settling us in. Bedrooms were very comfortable and again done in period antiques but with the necessary modern amenities. We had an excellent breakfast provided by Shirley and grand daughter Victoria served in the dinning room on table with a huge peacock feather centre piece. Only stayed one night but well worthwhile. Miss Burnett thank you for the experience it was a holiday highlight.

This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast. Ms. Burnett Avakian has set the bar very high for any future B and B's we may ever visit in the future. Our accommodations were lavish and comfortable. Breakfast was 5 star with silver service and a varied selection of delightful Southern cuisine. Ms. Avakian could not have been a more hospitable host. We left feeling as if we've made a new Friend! This is the best in Columbus for comfortable lodging. Cannot recommend staying here more. Well done Shadowlawn!! If ever we visit Columbus again, please expect our call!!!

The owner was the sweetest and best host I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a piece of Columbus History and a great place to stay, I can’t recommend this place enough. I will definitely be back and plan to bring my family. Thank you again Mrs Brunette

For my wife and I, Shadowlawn will always be more than just a place to stay. For us, it will forever be synonymous with warm hospitality. We felt so welcome and totally relaxed during our stay, which we even extended beyond our planned departure because we did not want to be in a hurry to leave. We found the history of Columbus to be amazing and plan to return to spend more time in Columbus and at Shadowlawn.
