The breakfast is exceptional. Home made Guinness and wheaten bread, homemade scones, homemade jam. Ulster Fry, cooked as it is supposed to be....Proper butcher sausage/bacon and free range egg. Potato Bread, Soda Bread. White pudding, and a really flavoursome tomato/mushroom.....who knew you could get such flavour from a tomato or mushroom. Granola, rhubarb, yoghurt. Delicious. Overall price for a stay including breakfast was excellent value for money. Especially when you factor in that the equivilent breakfast would easily be £15/£20 per head in any cafe/brunch spot. Double Room was really comfortable. Sadly it was a double bed and as we are used to Superking at home, it was a bit snug. But sure it was only for one night. Homemade shortbread at the tea/coffee making tray in the bedroom was a welcome touch. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Plus really liked the handle. As I'm always terrified of falling using a shower over the bath tub. The decor is a bit tired, but everything was clean. And the price point was fair. I did note that I thought the online bedroom pics of our bedroom (The Jackson Bedroom) probably didn't do it any justice. If we were staying longer, the TV remote would have annoyed me. Maybe the batteries are on the way out. But only could get the volume and typing channel numbers to work. Programme up and down weren't operational. I should have left a note for housekeeping, but forgot. Plus the freeview channels are probably due an update as quite a lot of channel numbers are different from home. But we were only staying 1 night, so no biggie. If you bring a firestick, it would be really easy to plug into back of telly. Averil and Terry were an absolute delight. A lifetime spent in hospitality has stood them in good stead. It has also armed them with enough stories to fill a small library.....and I do love a good story. They run a welcoming and restful B&B. Our stay was not planned much in advance. In fact I only booked it on the morning of our stay. I have now decided that this place will be my first port of call for Belfast trips when we have time to spend over a leisurely breakfast. We will definitely be back.

This is a VERY RUN DOWN BNB. The rooms are DIRTY and they have NEVER been cleaned properly. This is more like a nursing home. The owners were very nasty to me and didn't even explain that the rooms needed CLEANED. Please consider before U stay here. It is ******* with many evil spirits in here.

Having visited the Old Schoolhouse Inn a couple of years ago for a fantastic meal we thought a night's stay might be nice. Terry the owner was nice and friendly but the building itself was so dated (nice exterior), the room extremely cramped and generally didn't give off the vibe of a b&b. Although generally clean, the room itself was very dated (see photos) and could honestly do with modernisation. We honestly felt like we had intruded in someone's home, and once in the room it felt like we had been sent there as punishment for being naughty children. To top it off some old woman in the next room was clearing her throat excessively loud every 10 seconds, so loud we could hear it over the TV that we had on for a short time. We stuck it out for 30mins but were so uncomfortable and claustrophobic we couldn't wait to get out of there. £80 wasted however we felt that it would still feel wasted had we stayed the night. I feel bad writing this as the owner seemed nice but I think prospective visitors should be aware of these issues.

We had a night back at the Old School House . lovely warm welcome and the best home cooked breakfast Beautiful rooms peaceful and quiet . If you haven’t visited you must give this place a try Thank you for everything Definitely will visit again

Absolutely lovely local hosts — Terry and Avril were wonderfully welcoming. I was traveling with my elderly mom and they made certain to offer an accessible room, and went out of their way to accommodate her gluten free dietary needs. It offers accommodations similar to many of the B&B properties in Ireland - older, with an old world charm … tea/coffee in the room, honor book bottles of wine available and ample parking. Wonderful hosts pushed the experience to a notch, and we appreciate. Also, by far the best breakfast we had on our trip - the soda bread was fabulous!

Nice place, very friendly owners,loads o local info. Room was good, large bathroom. Breakfast nice. Beers and wine in the communal fridge which is a nice touch (honesty book) Only issue was water from shower was luke warm, and we should have mentioned it at the time.

A huge thank you to Avril and Terry! The Old Schoolhouse Inn is a truly beautiful place to stay. A great base for travelling into Belfast City. Lovely spacious rooms, delicious breakfast and exceptional service. We will definitely be visiting again. Hannah & Rosaleen

The Old School House was a great B+B and ticked all the boxes for me. It is immaculately clean, has excellent wifi (code on a plaque just inside the front door) ,my en-suite room was comfortable and had lovely little ‘extras’ such as a wee tub of shortbread biscuits alongside the tea/coffee. Fresh milk available in ‘the snug’ as well as an honesty-bar for beverages. Breakfast delicious and served by Terry and his wife Avril who makes the best wheaten bread I have found in the province. There is also an eclectic collection of books available for all to enjoy. Strongly recommended, I will be back in future and look forward to another relaxing stay and hearty breakfast. Many thanks.
