Set in a golf club ground is quiet and a bit oldy worldy. The rooms are comfortable although they could do with freshening up the decor and bathroom. The staff is helpful. The food was ok-ish

Albergo emerso nel verde a 5 minuti (in macchina) da stazioni per Londra. Un bel parco e un campo da golf. A 15 minuti si può attraversare il parco per raggiungere il piccolo villaggio - si arriva al Village green tradizionale con case anche loro del 1800. Carino. Chiesa del 1100 mi sembra. L'albergo è un Grade II Listed Building del 1800. La parte principale è bel tenuto. La camera nella parte dietro (avevamo un Twin) era molto spazioso con un bagno grande. Letti mediamente confortevole. Tutto pulito e funzionante. Parcheggio gratuito (non da scontare). Diciamo che avrebbe bisogno di una ristrutturazione e questo è il motivo del prezzo estremamente competitivo. Staff gentili, disponibili e attenti.

Stayed overnight after attending local party., seems very nice on arrival, nice grounds and approach. Reception were friendly enough, but then came the room. Dated, tired, in need of renewal. Main lights didn’t work, but sidelights did! Windows were particularly filthy. Cleaning seems to be superficial. Parts of cornice missing on wardrobe etc. you get the picture. There was coffee making facilities, with one biscuit ( to share!). Also toiletries that were ok. Breakfast included was actually pretty good. Cooked English breakfast available. But one of the staff was particularly rude to a guess inquiring whether a cappuccino was possible. Do not raise your head above the parapet! In all, nice location but bedrooms in dire need of refurbishing. Could be lovely.

Good location for a short break, away from the busy London areas. Friendly staff and nice clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Decor and furniture very dated and tired, could do with a facelift then it would be more appealing. Food was ok but only served till 8:45pm so quite a rush to get food when we arrived.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in….. This is without doubt the dirtiest and noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was dusty with cobwebs off everything, all items screwed to the walls were hanging off and the wardrobe door fell off when opened. The breakfast buffet is terrible with cold, undercooked and cheap ingredients left standing in a tray. Coffee that is best described as brown water and a very poor choice of cereals. The noise on the three nights we stayed was unbearable, the first night was a party which stopped at 12 but people were banging doors and running around u til 3am. The second night had furniture being moved above room until 2am and the third night barrels were being delivered for three hours. They must have a resident herd of elephants that come out at nights to roam the corridors because that’s what it sounded like! We asked for another pillow on the first night which we finally got on the last night. Taps have been fitted to sinks that do not fit and make it impossible to wash hands. The whole experience was terrible, dated and dirty with no redeeming features. DO NOT STAY HERE……

Out of all these hotels I have stayed, Coulsdon Manor is different because it is one of those historical building. It is located next to a golf course hence beneficial for golfers and you definitely need a car to get here. The bathroom was memorable with two sinks, a generous big bath tub and a separate shower corner as well. There was a nice poster bed, sofa but because I have an issue with windows, there were too many for my liking. This place is quite noisy because it is a social places so you will find lots of people going in and out so you will hear their conversations as well. The staircase, chandeliers and dining area was nice and grand.

We had an issue on arrival with the loft. It working meaning a room wasn’t available for six hours. With a wheelchair customer this was difficult. I had to book my own alternative for the first night. Whilst I wasn’t pleased with initial customer service, that leading to considerable stress in relocating, I spoke with the general manager the day after who agreed that the hotels process to find alternatives for guests was inadequate and that by simply developing a process and empowering his staff to book alternatives at no extra cost would be investigated and implemented. Loft failures are rare but it was highlighted that staff in duty had no means to book such at present. He had agreed there will be a review and in the event of a repeat incident (and lift failures are rare) customers would not be simply left to to find a useable room themselves, but staff would be empowered to to this on their behalf. It’s always worth having discussions with establishments when things go wrong. Whilst I’m not out of pocket and refund for the unusable room was promptly given he agreed it should not be for guests to need to do this themselves. As for the remainder of my stay, things went well for the second and third nights. This is beautiful location and whilst the hotel isn’t the most modern and is not air conditioned there are some great Rooms. I raised in a previous review why it is that only filtered coffee in flasks in provided for with breakfast, they charge £3.25 for a latte form a machine which could just as easily be placed in the public area and operated as self service. The flask coffee is really not to my taste and doesn’t start the morning well. It also appeared to be a cause of conflict and or disappointment from customers to staff as well! I have NEVER stated in a hotel and been charged extra for machine made Coffee, and I’m sure your staff don’t really appreciate the level of surprise and indignation I witnessed on this and previous visits on being told it’s an extra and more than we customers do being charged.

Arrived today at the hotel at 1500 to check in having booked disabled room plus one other almost three months ago. The receptionist apologised to me and said lift wasn’t working, but an engineer was currently at Rotherhithr and would be there in two hours. As my 89 yo mother uses a wheelchair and we had travelled five hours to get there that was a bit irksome, but I arranged for us to do something else until lift was ready. The said they would call when it was working. At 1800 I had heard nothing so called and was told engineer had four hours to attend and would be there soon. 1900 called again, no engineer and Sharon reiterated the four hour slot and there wasn’t anything she could do. I told her that my my mother wanted her room as she was very tired and she made some calls. She reiterated the four hour rule, I reminded her that at had arrived at the hotel at 1430 and it wasn’t working then either. She chose to be one defensive mentioning I didn’t check in until 1500. That is correct but I was with family there earlier and it had already failed before I checked in. I asked her to make alternative arrangements for us for the night and she said she would try. What that actually transpired was she said there was no hotel nearby with rooms and she couldn’t help and I could have a refund. Hardly helpful, and she didn’t seem to realise the gravity of an 89 year old lady needing a lift to get to a pre booked room and that a refund was not the answer, but good customer service was needed. I asked her to contact her management to arrange something. She tried but to no avail. I called advise her that within ten minutes I had found hotels nearby (and trust me at this point I’m stressed and getting irritated that she seemingly had no intention of helping. She couldn’t have tried hard as the local premier inn had availability (I told her first it was a travelodge but she chose to patronize me that there wasn’t one on the Purley way - and anyway the room was a available. Thatnlast statement is correct but without throwing Ann elderly lady over my shoulders it was inaccessible. I went to the hotel alone to retrieve bags dropped earlier and still she argued that the room was available and that the lift engineer was there! The lift still didn’t work and rather than argue with this woman kept repeating she could do NOTHING And that the room was available I chose instead to deal with another member of staff - retrieved bags to go and collect my mother and stay elsewhere. We will return tomorrow for the remainder of the stay and I will raise in person with the general manager. My family is spending around £1000 at this place for a special event this weekend. Some empathy would have been in order, and there is the issue of breach of contract i intend to raise with the general manager on this occasion. I have stayed here for approximately 10 weeks spent thousands of pounds here but am absolutely disgusted with how my violation of privacy and my mindset has been affected. I went up to my room only to find that my belongings weren't there. I went down to reception and explained my despair to which I got told housekeeping chucked my things in bags and left them in a locked room. They said I had to take it up with ******* when I booked it through zen hotels... don't use their website BTW as it took an extra £310 due to the site been slow. 10 weeks and I get kicked out for their mistake... the least they could have done is give me a room for the embarrassment caused by them. They said they couldn't call because ******* wouldn't give out my details.... They knew who I was and already have my phone number... Disgraceful behaviour and have left me homeless and totally embarrassed.... I hope everybody reads this and thinks again. Maybe next time Coulsdon Manor Hotel might treat their regular guests with a bit more compassion. To make matters worse I couldn't find anywhere to stay and the lightning and thunder and rain was tremendous... Thanks for throwing me out Coulsdon Manor Hotel and golf club... You should be ashamed of yourselves. People out there I'll let you decide... please leave comments

Stayed 2 nights while visiting family. Had room 116 which was very pleasant but the mattress was awful, Everytime you turned over the springs were pinging and we rolled together into the middle all night. We spoke to the receptionist but was told they were fully booked so couldn't change rooms. Also they said that no one else had complained about the bed being uncomfortable, I explained we probably wouldn't have mentioned it if we were only staying one night but to have two nights bad sleep was hard work. In saying this we would still book here again.

Not impressed at all very tired windows not cleaned for years two window panes full of condensation very dingy lighting,wardrobe doors wouldn't shut no decaffeinated tea bags worse still no bottled water to drink never had that before, the taps don't reach the sink bowl, if you can see out the window not painted for yrs, breakfast was passable but again no decaffeinated tea offer, never again for us

Shame to see some of the reviews. We stayed here for a full week with work, watched the action from the beer garden all week and eat there every night, very nice. We raced to get our work done so we could have a round which we managed Thursday twilight…. We had no clubs, golf shoes or usual clothing but we got on for £18, plus £15 for clubs, balls, tees, and a trolley. Absolute bargain for this course, the course is beautiful and they are not greedy. The guy in the club house even said well if you fancy 36 holes, go for it. Non pretentious nice stay and golfing experience - I hate to think of the complainers mindset with this place
