Perfect immersion into the rainforest, the space is really inviting with a comfortable common hang out space. The rooms whilst basic did what they needed and I slept well. The food was tasty, filling and convenient. The night walk was really great. Thank you to our guide. That was a very memorable experience.

To all our future guests: -Mozzie nets have been changed and very sorry for that (should not have happened) -We are very jungly and you are surrounded by nature in the raw. Our huts have canvas and mesh walls to allow a deep immersion with the rainforest with a few comforts of home. Cabins are furnished with just a bed, mozzie net and a few hooks for your things. If this doesn't appeal please don't stay as you will only be disappointed.

We first visited this establishment in 1991 when our daughter was 4 years old, so we thought it would be interesting to bring her and her family back here 33 years later ! We definitely weren't disappointed !! The accommodation is quite basic (tent-houses on platforms, albeit with en-suite toilet & shower) but they make no bones about this in their advertising - and the experience of living in the rainforest for a couple of nights was excellent. The night walk in the rainforest, led and explained very well by Odin (not sure of spelling) was definitely worthwhile - even though we joined it with some trepidation ! Steve & Sally were excellent hosts - Steve is a keen astronomer so we really enjoyed the views of Jupiter through one of his many telescopes, as wells his impromptu explanation of the stars in the Orion constellation (plus others), and Sally is an excellent chef who cooked up some great meals for all of us the first night. A highly recommended experience - but, as clearly stated in their adverts, it's not a luxury resort or party venue, so don't go there if that's what you're looking for ! And they did leave the overhead fans on overnight, even though they indicated on their "Must Read" email that the power could be off overnight - we were very pleased that they left it on !

Fabulous simplicity, warm welcome and comfortable clean accommodation. 2 adults 2 children very happy with our rainforest stay. Food was delicious. We didn't do the guided night walk but heard others say how great it was. Helpful staff and well run. Highly recommend.

Stayed at Daintree Crocodylus with family including young children. It was a terrific experience. The cabin worked well for a family of 5 - it was spacious and the beds were comfortable and having our own bathroom was great. We loved the jungle trail and the night tour was excellent too. The cafe is fabulous- great food (generous serves!), great for children as well as adults. And the staff are amazing- so friendly and helpful. Thanks to all.

Sorry to say I cannot rate this accomodation very highly. When I was paying $240 per night I did not expect to have to make my own bed. The shower was cold and when I mentioned this to staff I was told to put the basin tap on to build up pressure for the shower. Maybe a sign with this instruction in the bathroom would have helped. The mosquito nets were ineffective as they had large holes in them. There was also no door on the bathroom. There was evidence that there once had been but it had not been replaced. I will definitely look for better accommodation when I next visit the Daintree.

來自住宿之回應: A couple of notes for future guests: Mozzie Nets: Apologies for the holy mozzie nets. They are replaced regularly and it looks like this one was missed. Shower: In the Daintree there are no services supplied by the council so we run our own water, electricity etc. Water is pumped to each cabin from our bore and we use individual gas heaters for each of the big cabins. This does require a bit of patience to get going. On the plus side it has awesome pressure. We did have a problem with one of our hot water systems and this has now been replaced (perhaps that was Jan's room). Thanks for the heads up on the missing sign - we have replaced it and checked the other rooms as well Bathroom Door: the main entrance to the bathroom area has been removed to allow more air flow. It is essential to ensure we minimise the liklihood of mould and mildew given the intense humidity in the Daintree Rainforest. The toilet has a door and the shower area is not visible from the main room. Bed Unmade: We make all double beds and twins however as there are six bunks in each of the big bungalows and we don't know which one the guests (usually children) will choose, we leave linen sets on one bunk and let the guests choose their own bed. As noted we are very jungly and all about full immersion in the rainforest. The $240nt is for four people in one of our Rainforest Bungalows that are stand-alone buildings with a shower and toilet. They are our biggest rooms. Our Jungle Doubles are $120nt for a double bed using the toilet and shower block

My partner and I stayed at the Daintree Crocodylus Village in January 2024, just after the tourist restrictions were lifted. The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to escape for an immersive, close-to-nature experience. Although many attractions were closed, Sally provided us with excellent directions to explore local beaches and trekking areas. She also suggested areas for us to look out for on a night walk through the property, allowing us to witness the local wildlife up close. We were the first tourists on the island after Cyclone Jasper, and on the night of our stay, heavy rainfall caused the ferry service to shut down, stranding us. Despite these challenges, Sally and Steve were incredibly helpful. They used all their contacts to ensure we could leave the island and catch our flight the next morning. They organised an emergency evacuation boat during high tide and heavy rain, showing exceptional dedication to their guests and relieving a huge stress for us. We are also so grateful to Steve, who, through Sally and Steve's network, ensured our rental car was returned and handled all necessary procedures so we wouldn't be charged for the extra five days the car was stranded due to the emergency. We definitely plan to return to experience everything the Daintree has to offer. Despite the closures and roadblocks, the location's beauty left a lasting impression on us. We can only imagine how breathtaking it must be when everything is fully operational. A heartfelt thank you to Sally and Steve for all their help, and apologies for the delay in posting this review!

If you are concerned at all about security, don't stay at Crocodylus. There are no locks on the cabin doors. When I asked about this, the owner said casually, "No-one has ever had anything stolen from their rooms yet." It would be so cheap just to put some padlocks on the doors even as a deterrent, but he doesn't seem to think it's necessary. I'm sure he won't be the first to offer to pay when it does happen. There are people strolling by at all times of the day and night and it would be very easy just to walk in and take what you want with impunity. I hope when it happens (and it will) that it won't be you.

來自住宿之回應: As noted by Marida there are no keys at Crocodylus and haven't been for 38yrs. We also, as noted, have not had any incidents in that whole time. We pride ourselves and our guests on being lovely and honest.

it was great to experience the Daintree as it is, without the pollution of people. We have a yellow-footed bird that made a loud noise at night so didn't sleep well, and woke up to a cassowary on our doorstep. The daintree really does come alive at night. My partner really enjoyed the night tour and the explanation of the preservation of nature and luminance. I enjoyed the access to the cafe and a kitchen so we made our dinner one night, and ordered another. We then used the board games to play with friends at night.

This is by far the best experience in the Daintree. Great accommodation- yes it’s basic, but get to you sleep within the beautiful jungle. Mosquito nets and comfy beds and a fantastic, restful sleep full of the sounds of nature. They offer home cooked food, good coffee and a very warm welcome. The hosts are knowledgable and friendly and happy to share their time to chat and talk about their passion.. Daintree. I was lucky enough to share my breakfast coffee with a curious cassowary who wandered in. Second time I have visited and I will definitely be back.

Clean & comfortable budget accom. So fun to sleep in rainforest under canvas whilst having mod cons of a treehouse/lodge. Lots of animal/bird noises to listen to overnight. Would recommend! Easy & enjoyable walk in the jungle & opportunity to do guided night walk. Was surprised by cost $40 per adult $30 per child but knowledge of guide Jamie was immense and fascinating

Amazing experience in an amazing region! Daintree Crocodylus enabled us to discover the Rainforest from a unique perspective, including enjoying a cassowary’s visit during breakfast. Steve and Sally were warm, helpful and generous hosts! We will definitely be back.

The hotel that we booked in Daintree was permanently closed. We were driving around getting pretty nervous that we weren't going to find a place to stay as it was late in the evening. We happened across Crocodylus. Craig could tell that we were on edge. He offered us food and said he would find a room for us. He was so focused on helping, that he forgot to charge us (which I reminded him of). Our cabin was right in the middle of the rain forest, it was perfect. The breakfast the next day was very good too! Wish we could have stayed longer.

This is only a review of the meals and mood in the evenings, because I didn't stay here overnight. I want to note that 1. The staff and guests were very friendly and welcoming 2. The food was very good 3. LIVE MUSIC on Tues nights! And it was very good! And there was a time of OPEN MIC which was hilarious.
