韋塞克斯海濱酒店(Wessex Inn by the Sea)

This place is lovely. However, the instant I walked in the room I got a massive migraine because the cleaning products scent was so strong. So strong I could smell it before I opened the door. I couldn't even stay in the room and opened the patio door and sat outside for hours hoping it would get better. It was awful. The service was very good and the room was fine. But there is never a need to use products like that.

The Inn's location is very nice. Across from the beach. The staff was all super nice and very helpful. Over all a very good stay. Downside. The building is old and needs updates. Getting into the room the door was hard to unlock had to turn it hard to open. The room smelled musty (most likely its been locked up all winter) After opening the sliding door for a while it cleared up. The light sockets are a bit loose so the plug slips put of you bump it. parking is a bit minimal. Over all I would stay here again.

Location is ideal, the owner and staff are super helpful and the property is undergoing renovations. When that is completed it will be a charming place to stay, and I would give a better rating for the property. The bedding and linens are new and fresh, adequate bathroom amenities and microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee maker - even dishes and cutlery. It Right across from the marina and village of Cowichan Bay so easy access to restaurants e etc. unfortunately I have a condition which makes me super sensitive to noise and need to wear earplugs- and I thought we had a herd of elephants in the room above us. It didn’t bother my husband and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again - but in an upstairs room. Thanks Wessex Inn

The view and location are ideal so I was very hopeful for my stay. I was tired and just wanted some peace. The door handle was falling off so I tightened the screws with my nailfile. The dishes in the room are convenient. Unfortunately they were left wet for me so I chose to wash them before use. The bathroom floor could use a good cleaning and its time to update the toilets. It's a hold until it flushes, waste of water, kind of deal. Once I settled in I got the peace I needed. The front desk staff member was kind and approachable. I felt safe and overall comfortable after I fixed the doorknob and washed the dishes.

We enjoyed our stay at the Wessex Inn By the Sea and were impressed by what the hotel offered. The large room was well equipped with a kitchenette, fridge and microwave and lots of coffee and tea was available. There was a small balcony attached with a lovely view over the bay which was immediately across the road. A small park on the water was a beatiful place to sit in the sun. The room included everything needed for a comfortable short or long term stay including a good television with cable. The staff were friendly and approachable. Although a few things were a bit dated, the room was clean, airy and pleasant. The price was lower than other motels in the area that didn’t offer as much. Recommended.

Hôtel ayant besoin d’amour ou d’un bon rafraîchissement! La propreté est bien, chercher à réserver au deuxième étage et une chambre sans tapis. Selon mes allergies le premier niveau a eu des problèmes d’eau et de moisissures 😕

We loved our stay here. Cute town with lots of options. Ocean is right across the road with a great view from every room. Hotel was perfect for our stay. Staff was amazing and gave us many suggestions of things to do.

It was the perfect home base for my south island get-away. My unit even had a full kitchen which was a nice surprise. Comfortable, spacious, nice staff, sparkling clean, attention to small details, and very good value for the price.

Property sits on a nice piece of land, but that’s about it. Old, dirty, tired property it’s cheap for a reason!
