Have items on the menu available. 50% of dishes were not available for the evening meals and it was the same for breakfast.

booked a twin room for friends 50th, the heating broke and it was boiling hot, told there were no more twin rooms so had to be moved to a double, the bed was a small double so for 2 ladies average sized this wasn’t idea, we also kept rolling together as the matress wasn’t great! this room gradually got hotter as the evening went on, at 1am I called reception needing to be moved, the man told me he didn’t have authority to move us to a bigger room so we could only move to a room on the next floor, we had to accept this as at least we could open the window, we couldn’t open the window on the ground floor as a dog next door was constantly barking outside. Food was substandard, we both had Sunday roast, it was missing half the veg it said it came with when we looked at the menu later in the evening, and we both had upset stomachs the next day. The only positive I can think for this hotel is it was clean.

Had a lovely stay here with family. The rooms were gorgeous and the bar area had a great atmosphere. The food was wonderful and Paul was just fabulous and went out of his way to ensure we had a good time. We would definitely return!

Great place for an excellent meal and comfortable room. Strong shower and big bath towels appreciated! Very warm, quiet room. Bed very soft.

We stayed here overnight as we were attending a party there. The room was dirty. There were stains up the walls, cobweb from ceiling and for some reason a urinal mat under the bin. The bed was an only a double and the walls were paper thin so we were unfortunately awoken by headboard banging and groaning. We paid £138.50 for this and did not include breakfast which we could buy in the bar. If this hotel was on 4 in a bed I would have given them half this amount of money.

Very convenient location, along with friendly and helpful staff. For our whole stay (6pm to 10am the next day) there was a flickering hallway light that made it horrendous to be near. I'm surprise dthe staff didn't deal with it. Room and pub were well furnished and it made a lovely stay.

Fabulous hotel and stay, arrived at 11.30am, check in is 3pm but as our rooms were ready they checked us in, the young lady on reception was lovely, had a meal for 10 of us in the evening, Paul who looked after us was fabulous, amazing at his job and an asset to the place, he was also on serving us at breakfast and also checked us out. Lovely clean rooms, lovely food, absolute gem , we’ll be bk

Well what can I say we stayed in room 24 which was lovely! And we did the dbb deal the food was amazing drinks were flowing and the breakfast was perfect I would recommend this place yes the internet isn’t the best but when you’re in such a lovely place why do you need it also we must say a huge thank you to Paul who looked after us so well he is charming funny and knows how to his job extremely well he made us feel like vip’s would definitely return

All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The evening meals and breakfasts were superb. Private parking with CCTV was secure.

We stopped here to break our journey and it was close to the motorway and a nice area. The Vicarage is a pub with rooms. The bar food and drinks were very good and we were lucky to get an upgrade and had a four poster room with a superb bathroom. Yes there was some road noise but that is to be expected in older properties with no double glazing and the bed was very comfortable. Nice extras included good quality crisps, water etc and all the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. We found it excellent value for money and would have no hesitation in stopping over there again should we be heading that way.

A convenient location for what we were doing. It has plenty of parking, including reserved parking for residents when there's a large event on. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was clean and a reasonable size and had little extras like crisps. Breakfast had a good choice of items for which you pay extra to the room and pay on the morning. I do usually prefer to have an all inclusive price for room and breakfast, but the price was actually reasonable. My only small comment would be that the stair carpet needs replacing - it's worn and ripped, and doesn't give a good impression before you get to your room.

We was placed in Room 1 by reception and the noise was terrible. We paid £168 for one night and was woken up at 6am by hotel staff talking not impressed at all .

The noisy staff you refer to must have been other guests leaving early in the morning as no staff where in the building until 7am and we apologise that they disturbed you. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The room is really comfortable and clean and the restaurant is very nice for dinner. Lovely breakfast as well.

Management need to consider a couple of things. Are they aware of the weather and temperature drops? Should the heating be left off when it’s only 7 degrees outside? If one of your waiting staff forget to pass a breakfast order to the kitchen and after being asked over 20 minutes later about it only to be told it had been forgotten… is there something wrong here?

I stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend and booked an “Executive King Room” for two nights, but our experience was nothing short of disappointing. Upon arriva our room wasn’t ready for check-in however the team kindly offered us a drink on the house whilst we waited. We were then shown to our room which later in the evening we discovered was directly above the wedding dance floor, and the noise level was unbearable at 11.45pm. Despite the fact that we had driven 4.5 hours to attend a wedding the following morning, the music and guests’ loud singing made it impossible to sleep; it felt like we were in the middle of the party. When my partner called down to reception to address the noise, the lady at the desk simply said, “there’s nothing we could do about it,” without any apology or attempt to resolve the issue. We requested compensation for the night we couldn’t sleep, but to our dismay, we never received a response from the hotel management. The lack of communication and consideration was shocking. I had even contacted the hotel prior to our stay to confirm our room details, and at no point was I informed that there would be an event that would make our room unusable. We paid for an upgrade, expecting comfort and quiet, but received the opposite. Overall, this experience was frustrating and disappointing, and the hotel failed to meet even basic standards of hospitality and customer service. I would not recommend staying here, especially if you value a good night’s sleep and responsive service. If you do decide to take the risk, ensure you ask not to be situated in rooms 23 or 24 as they are directly above the dance floor and you will not sleep:
