The staff were so friendly and attentive. Feature room outstanding apart from a couple of peanuts on the carpet and a very small blood stain on the duvet! Food was cooked to order, slightly higher priced but good quality. All in all a pleasant place to stay.

******* promised a rollaway bed in one of our rooms but the George knew nothing about the request. Apparently the promise was made to appease me, with no intention of following through with the George—no fault of the George which as delightful, with delicious food!

Could be a bit slow serving breakfast. The car park was very small so unlikely to get in although there were other free car parks in the vacinity. Otherwise a very pleasing stay.

Old is expected but smelly, small and unclean is not. We were moved rooms without any hesitation. Water pressure advocates. Very friendly staff and food is good. Good breakfast. Just be careful what room you are given.

Hotel room comfortable with both kettle and coffee maker. Breakfast was good, but dinner could have been better. The burger was over cooked and the fish pie too dry. The scallop starter was not good value.

Lovely historic hotel .great character. Stayed in crimson room big gothic four poster. Spacious shower over bath not that powerful but its an old building Friendly helpful staff goid dinner lovely risotto Breakfast a little hectic our waiter by himself but did a splendid job rushing about good humour. Shane our poached eggs were hard and bit cold

Wonderful hotel staff amazing dinner was great problem with the shower , English breakfast poor , my avacado and toast was fine.

No food available, chef was I'll . Told chip shop was up rd, this was shut. Ended up with co op sandwich for dinner, to then find out there was a restaurant across the rd that could have done. Let barmaid go home at 9.30 then told us bar was shutting early due to staff shortage. My room was right next to extractor. Noisy night No Aircon or fan. So melted all night. Couldn't open window because of noisy extractor.

Loved this hotel. Staff very friendly. Easy to find. Breakfast was amazing and room was clean and cozy. Would definitely stay again.

Staff were amazing. Room was tired with barely warm water in the bathroom. Stay was not long enough to report issues.

The George is a lovely hotel in the heart of Cranbrook and has some real plus points. The staff are very welcoming and happy to help; the location is excellent; the breakfast is great. On the less good side, the rooms could do a with a refresh - there was peeling paint in the bathroom and the bedroom furniture looked tired and dated. That said, the bed was very comfortable and the linen soft and clean. For the price, I would definitely recommend.
