This quiet (as possible) hostal a mere few blocks from the Parque Calderon is full of history and nice people. There's a tiny cafe on the first floor where you can get breakfast or lunch and early dinner, and the rooms are small and quite serviceable. Staff are lovely. You are seconds away by foot or taxi to just about everything. If you like very simple, this is for you. I prefer simple so this hostal was perfect. Downtown is noisy, nothing to be done about it, so I use white noise. Milton and his wife Cathy are lovely people and the staff are here most of the time. If you're not used to this, please be prepared to respect the ancient sewage lines of this city and put your used toilet paper in the basket, and let the hot water warm up for a few minutes before you get into it. I will be back here in May and most likely will stay here again.
