Need for improvement

Hôtel calme avec une vue imprenable sur l’océan atlantique. Chambre spacieuse avec balcon, qui donne dans l’océan. on a l’impression d’être dans un paquebot en pleine mer. Le personnel est assez disponible et gentil. On est complètement dépaysé sachant qu’on est quand même qu’à 5mn à pied du centre ville de dakar.

Hotel original. Habitaciones en forma de camarote prácticamente dentro del mar. En su época de esplendor debió de ser impresionante ahora necesita un poquito de mantenimiento, al estar tan cerca del mar pasa factura al edificio. Personal muy atento y educado

Aufgrund der guten Lage waren wir schon öfters hier. In wenigen Minuten kann man zu Fuss in das Stadtzentrum von Dakar gelangen. Das Hotel hat außerdem einen schönen Privatstrand mit kostenlosen Liegen und Schirmen für die Hotelgäste und sicherlich mit dem angrenzenden Lagonrestaurant eines der spektakulärsten Restaurants in ganz Dakar. Die Zimmer wurden teilweise minimalinvasiv renoviert ... die Grundsubstanz der Hotels ist aber in die Jahre gekommen. Der Ausblick aus den Zimmern und die Balkone die auf das Meer hinausragen sind morgens und abends ein Highlight. Die französischstämmige Besitzerfamilie ist sehr nett wenn dann nicht das Personal im Hotel wäre ... Nicht gefallen · Die Damen an der Rezeption sind in Bezug auf dem Umgang mit Kunden mit das schlimmste was ich auf meinen Reisen in Afrika und sonst noch wo erlebt habe. Dieser Eindruck festigt sich mit jedem weiteren Besuch. Ich hatte deshalb bereits mehrfach deshalb erwogen das Hotel nicht mehr zu buchen. Stand und Restaurant konnten mich jedoch bisher immer wieder umstimmen. E Mails mit Buchungsanfragen werden nur sporadisch beantwortet. Wenn man dann nach Tagen anruft erfährt man das die Mail angekommen wäre aber man sich noch nicht darum gekümmert hätte ... Buchungen über diverse Portale bedürfen regelmäßiger längerer Diskussionen bis es zum Checkin kommt - ich hätte hier schon einige male am liebsten laut losgeschrien ... Mais cast làfrique ... ruhig bleiben und alles langsam 3-4 erklären ....Wenn man dann mal drin ist wird es in der Regel etwas besser. Das Personal beim Frühstück ist meistens relativ unbeteiligt. Da es aber Buffet gibt ist das nicht so schlimm. Es gibt zwar eine Siebträgermaschine, der Kaffee kommt aber aus einem Pulverautomaten. Wer etwas weniger ausgeben, einen guten Kaffe und es etwas einfacher dafür um Lichtjahre freundlicher haben möchte, kann in fast gleicher Lage in das Union Amicale de Corse gehen. (auch Zugang zum Meer aber ohne Sandstrand) und eine sehr netter Patron de la Corse.

Muy bien comunicado, personal y trato perfecto, limpieza correcta. Lo único que necesita mantenimiento.

I stayed at the Lagon II for two nights during my first trip to Dakar. Nice spacious rooms, I believe all with balconies overlooking the ocean. They offer a very good breakfast (ocean-view dining room) with a decent selection of items including pastries, eggs, juice, cheeses, yogurt, tea/coffee, and fruit. Great wifi. The staff was always helpful when I needed to find a taxi (and negotiate a price). I think the Lagon II is a good choice compared to some of the other "western" hotels in Dakar -- I also stayed 3 nights at the Novotel nearby, and I think I'd pick the Lagon II as the better value. (I booked the Lagon II through ***********, having tried unsuccessfully to book directly with the hotel.) (Note that Lagon II is the hotel; Lagon I is a restaurant located next door.) The big "******" grocery store is just a few minutes' walk, if you need to pick up some snacks or toiletries. I should give a special shout-out to the terrific houskeeping staff -- I forgot an item in my room, and wasn't able to return to ask about it until almost 2 weeks later. Not only had they found it and saved it for me, they had made careful notes about where & when it was left. I appreciated their kindness so much. Jërëjëf to them!!

Lagon 2 is an excellent hotel and one of the best choices in Dakar. The location on the water is very beautiful and the hotel is very comfortable, clean and the staff are all very gracious and helpful. The air conditioning works well and the room is spacious. The breakfast is very good with beautiful views to start your day. The Lagon 1 restaurant nearby is excellent with very good seafood. From the hotel, you can walk along the water into the town and then Independence Plaza. I recommend Lagon 2 if you want a high quality hotel but not to be removed from the local culture by being in a resort.

Do not stay in this hotel. It claims to be a 4-star hotel and it is not. There are cockroaches in the rooms and the management knows as they leave spray to kill them. The property is extremely run down, old, and has none of the facilities it advertises. A complete rip off, stay away from this hotel.

Great location. Incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. Friendly and nice staff. Great food at restaurant and bar. Only minor issues is the room. Balcony door didn't lock and tiolet seat was attached to toilet. But over all a good place for the money. I would definitely stay there again.
