In brief, we arrived, checked in and found our room's AC was turned off. We turned it on and waited a couple hours trying to relax. Finding no AC was coming, I asked for a second room. I was told that a) it was hard to get into another room because the key making device was broken and it would take a while to make a new key and b) it was unlikely it would have AC. We asked for a refund and was told they couldn't do it; refunds have to come from Quality Inn Corp. I talked to customer service and was assured I would not be charged for the night. Found out not only was I charged but when I called to ask for the refund again was told that QI Corp could not do the refund and the hotel desk manager could not issue it either. Only the manager who would be in "probably tomorrow" could. Also, as we were in the room for more than hour, he believed we should pay for the room. Last stay there. Last stay at a Quality Inn.
