I am sorry to hear of your disappointment in regards to your expectations, particularly as it coincided with the special occasion of your husband's surprise party. We take your feedback with the utmost seriousness. I would like to start by acknowledging and apologizing for the areas where we fell short of your expectations. Specifically, I regret that Potter House lacked the expected beverages in the refrigerator and that you encountered a spider in a bed. I assure you that although our cabins are situated in a natural setting, they are meticulously cleaned and maintained. I can understand how unsettling such an experience can be, and am genuinely sorry for any discomfort caused. Additionally, I want to clarify our stance on air conditioning. Due to our location in the Rockies (at nearly 9,000 feet of elevation), our cabins were originally designed and are intentionally renovated without air conditioning systems. The architectural choice to rely on natural air circulation aims to provide a tranquil experience without the noise of compressors, aligning with the rustic ethos and sustainability initiatives of our property. Additionally, even on the hottest of days (2 weeks in summer) the temperatures at night still dip into the 50’s. During your scheduled August stay, our nighttime temperatures were already dipping into the 40’s. While I acknowledge these shortcomings, I would also like to address some inaccuracies in your review: 1. Regarding the cake request, it was made at the last minute (around 5pm the evening before your arrival), limiting our ability to fulfill this request. Due to our elevation, in-house cake preparation is a challenge. Unfortunately, on such short notice, neither we nor our partners were able to fulfill your request. We suggested an alternative solution, which involved you bringing a cake from a larger metropolitan area. Given you were flying in on a private jet, we thought that would be a feasible solution. We did offer smaller special dessert options made in house, but you did not accept any alternative suggested. 2. Concerning transportation to Potter House cabins, we offered multiple options, including transportation provided by Wes (Guest Services Supervisor) or the use of one of our guest vehicles. You declined and instead expressed that you preferred to walk, citing a desire to stretch your legs after your journey. This is often the case with many of our guests, so we did not push an alternative (unaware their were any health issues or problems). Given you opted to leave early (after only 90 minutes with us), I want to highlight that we waived charges for your second night for two total cabins ($10K+) and did not bill you for the $4,000 worth of horseback riding and fly fishing activities you had booked (expenses we still had to cover.)
