彎曲的溪流

First of all, I found it off putting that I had to checkin at the bar. While the bartender was pleasant enough, the owner/manager bellied up to the bar… was not. Due to a change in our schedule I merely asked what the policy was on checking out early and if a partial refund could be applied. In an annoyed tone she responded “it doesn’t change anything”. I thought well okay, that is fine, just thought I would ask. The cabin was cute and well decorated, although not a Mountain View room as reserved. We faced the parking lot and other cabins. The water smelled strongly of sulfur, as did we after a shower. There were also no convenient outlets for medical devices close to the beds, nor could we move the beds to get to the ones behind the headboard. We stayed for one night and left early the following morning. Our favorite part of the stay was coming down the hill at sunrise…. The view was phenomenal.

The mountain setting is wonderful. Too bad the place closed for the season days before my arrival! Nobody was there. Office closed. I had been calling ahead all day but no answer. Restaurant and bar closed. No food available. Finally found the maintenance guy. He gave me a key to a cabin and left. The key did not fit the lock. I looked at other cabins and found one with a key in the door and door wide open. It had been recently stayed in but had not been cleaned. Dirty towels - garbage - bed unmade. This is all happening at 9:30 pm, snowing and 30 degrees…. We slept in our clothes and on top of the bed covers at left at 6am the next morning. I’ll bet it’s a nice place when it’s actually open for business.
