四十四旅館(Guest House Forty-Four)

This is a tough one. Really liked the hotel room and property and, of course, Dubrovnik was beautiful but the stay started and ended poorly. We arrived without directions to find the hotel. Thankfully Old Town isn’t too big and so with the half an hour of wandering around we found out where the property was. There was nobody there so we took our luggage to the restaurant and had a pizza. While we were there, we got an email from the front desk at 44 asking when we were going to arrive. When we got there, the front desk person was not in good humour and obviously very sick. My wife and i are seniors and we had a really bad experience a few years ago in France. The person who was organizing the morning breakfast was sick and the next day we both were. We had more travelling to do and eventually ended up with pneumonia. Needless to say we were alarmed when this person at 44 was handling our passports and showing us things in our room while she was not feeling well. We could hear her coughing and sneezing throughout our stay and even saw her working at the restaurant one night. I have sympathy for those who are sick and maybe have to work but why not wear a mask to protect vulnerable guests who are staying with you. Finally when we went to pay at checkout her credit card machine didn’t work and she insisted that our credit cards were the problem. After long phone calls back home we determined that the cards were fine and the machine was, in fact, the problem.

We had a long & exhausting trip to get to Dubrovnik, and were immediately relaxed as we got to our beautiful room. Very simple rooms, but absolutely perfect. The bathroom was nice, the balcony was fantastic, and the balance of modernity with the stone walls was beautifully done. Do expect stairs when you stay here!! I usually don't book breakfast, but was glad we had it included, as the breakfast spot during our stay was very close by, and right on the water, and absolutely delicious! We had a fantastic time and would love to stay here again.

Our room (#3 on second floor) was extremely quiet, overlooking a courtyard rather than a street. Nice close-up view of the Serbian Orthodox Church across a small alley. It's a very small hotel so services in the lobby have limited hours; but the staff is wonderfully helpful. No vehicles are allowed inside the city wall, but it's an easy 5-miinute walk from the Pile Gate, with ramps and smooth pavements for rolling luggage. This part of the Old Town has a really nice historic feel. The room itself is spacious, very clean, and convenient.

Great place to stay within the walled old city of Dubrovnik. It is close to everything, but also amazingly quiet at night. The rooms do require you to climb some stairs, but if you don't want to climb steps, old town Dubrovnik is not the place to visit. The room was charming, spacious and very clean. Would definitely recommend.

We had such a pleasant trip because this place was so relaxing. Beautiful rooms, very modern but with the old stonework. Balcony was nice, bathroom as perfect, everything was kept very clean. Breakfast was also very much appreciated esp next to the sea!

Fabulous property! The place was in a convenient spot right inside the Old Town. Close to everything. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and greeted you whenever they saw you. The on site restaurant was excellent for dinner. The breakfast restaurant was just across the way again very good! We stayed here in August for a few days and we had an amazing stay here. There is no parking so don’t plan coming by car it is very very limited outside the Historical area!

great location, very short walk from the main pedestrian streets in dubrovnik. In the old city, access to many inns and apartments are up a steeps hills with lots of steps, 44 is level entry. (there are stairs inside the property to get to rooms). nice upscale restaurant that serves more non-typical fare. staff was very friendly. the in-room safe needs to be replaced or fixed.

Back from an incredible stay in Dubrovnik at Guest House Forty Four. Could not have picked a better location, right in the heart of the old town. Paula and her team were so welcoming and friendly- helping us with our bags through the impressive city walls and streets. The room itself was stunning, huge comfy bed (with powerful and much needed air-con), large clean bathroom and cute terrace. Paula went above and beyond to help us find activities, book us into busy restaurants (Taj Mahal is beyond amazing) and make sure our cab got us back to the airport to pick up our hire car for further travel. Would be back in a heartbeat. Incredible.

Just beautiful - the rooms and the building are just beautiful and beautifully done. Historic but modern amenities and decor. The staff are wonderful, friendly and so so helpful with excursions and advice about the area. Would highly recommend this property! Be sure to eat at their restaurant, food and staff wonderful!
