Remodeled units were great, both units had either ocean or sound view. Clean, great customer service

I love coming to this resort. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The units are older, but well maintained. There is no elevator. There are lots of amenities on site. Beach has nice boardwalk to access beach without steps.

There is no safe place here for folks with balance or mobility issues. Our unit was 0 step entrance but very steep steps to 2nd floor living/kitchen so we had to lug our cooler and food up. We are 86 and 83. OBX is not ADA friendly for sure. Our unit needed lots I f maintenance i mean how do you plumb a slower backward.. H means cold and C means hot. Also paint is a cheap fix. Use it Shall I say anything about the TV w I ring???? See photo

Great place and location but basic repairs and replacements are needed in the unit we stayed in. Work ongoing to modernize the pool. Compliments on the project. Great beach and access. Have returned to the resort many times. Time for upgrade to the unit rooms.

We stayed here for 2 nights and honestly was the best experience. It does have a clubhouse and different outside activities that we didnt utilize but we loved it. They are working to update the rooms and are doing a good job. We stayed in the top floor and felt right at home. They have a little kitchenette that was handy. The bedroom was huge and bed was super comfortable. I panicked because when the email came in reminding us of our check-in , in small print it said you needed to provide your own blankets but they supplied towels. However it was also dated for 2022. Since we flew in from out of state and figured we'd check it out before buying anything. It was fully equipped. Shower was outdated but very clean snd actually washed my thick hair well. Besides the room the desk attendant was so nice and helpful and its gated so you feel safe. Had private beach access. Duck itself is the best little area and id definitely return.

Even though the weather didn’t cooperate we still had a great time. The beach is right there and you can walk all along it for miles especially at low tide. The lodging was very clean and we were able to spend quiet time together. Since we were were there in the off season it was uncrowded both on the road and in the shops. Not everything is open this time of year so you need to bring inside entertainment. We enjoyed the peace & quiet. Thank you. PS The ROKU TV access is the worst because you don’t get any foootball on Sunday!

Kitchen was not really a kitchen just a fridge sink and a hotplate and a few pans but we didn't use any of that anyway

The town of Duck is awesome and easy access by foot from the Barrier Island resort. The resort is in extreme need of internal repairs to most units, as I understand, from management. One must be very open minded about accepting faulty appliances that don't work fully.
