Upon arrival a friendly and helpful reception from Anais and George. Reception area is beautiful with a welcoming fire, as is the rest of this stunning house. This was a special birthday celebration with a friend for two nights and we felt like we were special guests in a lovely home supported by helpful but unobtrusive staff. The house was being decorated for Christmas while we stayed and it was a joy to watch the wonderful creations appear all over the house during our three days at Cromlix - it was enchanting inside and out. The food was lovely and by my second night at dinner there was an extra choice of desserts that I could eat made and ready - MY fault for not informing the hotel of my lemon allergy but immediately sorted. Breakfast was marvelous as was our afternoon tea. Waiting and bar staff all really friendly and attentive to our needs also giving us advice on local shopping. Our room (suite) was outstanding, beautiful, creatively designed with a wonderful blending of traditional furniture with modern fabrics in these very spacious victorian rooms. The suite was a total surprise as I had booked a beautiful room and had to check with Anais that we were in the right room! We were truly giddy with excitement at having our own lounge as well as a fabulous bathroom and stunning bedroom. It had been our plan to enjoy this beautiful house for most of our time in Cromlix and that we did! The art work throughout the house is really interesting and something to suit every taste but the 'piece de resistance' for me is the beautiful chapel with its tranquility and peacfulness allows a space for either prayer or meditation irrespective of faith or not. I cannot begin to say how lovely it was to be treated and feel like true VIP's when our reality is we are very normal people seeking a special location to celebrate a special birthday - that is clearly the norm in this beautiful house with their skilled and professional staff. I would recomend this beautiful house for any celebration or just a visit, you will not be disappointed. I look forward to being able to stay again in the near future.
