特別喜歡的一家酒店，像家一樣温馨舒適，環境優美，乾淨衞生，特麗莎坐的早餐非常好吃😋，床也特別舒服，我還會入住

幾個月前我曾在這裡住過，經過深思熟慮後，我感到有責任留下這篇評論——即使只是為了警告其他人。無論什麼情況下我都不會建議住在這裡。 從我到達的那一刻起，所謂的「主人」就營造了一種非常不舒服的氛圍，讓我真的很難放鬆。他們的態度很冷淡，近乎敵意，而且充斥著不必要的規則，讓我感覺自己更像是一個不受歡迎的入侵者，而不是一個付費的客人。 早餐？在我要求的時候還沒有。相反，他們給了我一杯優格——但嚴格指示我不能在房間裡吃它。顯然，他們完全沒有考慮到客人的舒適度。 入住過程簡直是居高臨下——對房間每個微小的細節進行冗長的說教：哪些開關可以使用，哪些是禁止使用的，不要觸碰百葉窗，不要調節暖氣，淋浴的工作原理是這樣的（好像我以前從來沒見過一樣）。這不是款待；這是一次控制練習。整件事情不像是我入住的介紹，更像是對房子本身的無可忍受的吹噓，而我對此完全不感興趣。最糟糕的是？這種感覺就像主人隨時都可能出現來執行他們嚴厲的、無趣的規則。這讓人感到壓抑。我住過很多地方，從來沒有感到如此不受歡迎或受到限制。 我再強調一下：不要住在這裡。不惜一切代價避免。

Laurel's BnB is an absolute gem! From the cozy ambiance to the impeccable hospitality, every moment spent there feels like a warm embrace. One word superb, wonderful hosts , very well appointed room, super breakfast. From the moment you walk in you are aware you are going to have a quality stay. Thinking of staying anywhere else ?? Well don't it's that good.

The checkin was just bizarre. Trish made an officious performance of sitting behind her desk to tap our names into her laptop. And that set the tone for what was to come… Although we had booked all 3 rooms we each, in turn, got an induction / onboarding type lecture about how to use the shower, the rules of the room, etc. Such a pointless waste of an hour for him to deliver that three times when it could’ve been done just once. Whilst there is SO much more I could write I want to focus on the following points. 1. Stan made much of the fact that their cat loved egg yolk, and as he cleared one plate away he put it down in the utility room and the cat was heard licking the plate clean. Totally unhygienic. I suspect the Food standards agency would be interested to learn of their poor hygiene practices. 2. Stan offered to take some of our party in his Merc to the wedding 2 miles away. This was also offered in correspondence. As we were leaving he said not to forget we owed him £14 for the one way lift, a cost he’d never before mentioned. The wedding venue is less than 5 mins from The Laurels (as per Google maps). I’m sure Essex County Council will also be interested to learn that Stan is running an unlicensed taxi company. 3. Without permission Stan reached over me and took my mobile phone off the breakfast table and put it out of reach on their desk. Who the hell does he think he is? That was a mighty overreach. 4. They were rude, condescending, and laid down ridiculous rules and regulations that made us feel very uncomfortable. 5. By the time we were leaving I’d got the measure of him, so I made a point of telling him that there were no teaspoons left in our bedroom as I didn’t want him to think I’d taken them. His response was yes, if you hadn’t said I would’ve thought you were a thieving b!tch.

We spent 6 amazing nights in Laurels under the loving care of Trish and Stan❤️ We were attending a wedding in Chelmsford and it was a very good option. We felt super comfortable since the first minute and the communication leading up to the arrival was top notch. You basically stay at their beautiful home in super comfortable rooms. As this is their home the attention to the detail is excellent. Room is cleaned everyday. Every morning Trish makes you delicious, fresh and homemade breakfast served to your liking. Stan was always on call for us to drive us around with very good prices. We honestly felt like we were visiting our parents house we were at home away from home. We really didn't want to leave :( will definitely visit again! Also a huge plus they have a super cute kitty Thank you so much for everything!

Read and believe any low reviews you can find on this site as well as other travel sites. The owner is arrogant and condescending, and will feel the need to explain how to turn on and use every single item in your room, which takes about 15 minutes. It is just part of the “ check-in” procedure as he calls it. When I checked in, he jokingly offered me to stay in his room when I asked for a quiet bedroom in the back of the house away from traffic. Unprofessional and creepy. He will stand over you at breakfast and stare at you, and if you move one of your dishes, he will place it back to where he wanted it as you are eating, and remove dishes you are still actively eating from and immediately start washing them and pots and pans while you are sitting in the kitchen, trying to enjoy breakfast. When I checked in, I set my camera bag down on a blanket on the bed, he immediately grabbed it and started putting it into a closet. When I left the first morning, he followed me to the door and asked me when I was returning, you have absolutely no privacy there. I had made a cup of coffee and set it in the small refrigerator to enjoy that afternoon, when I returned back to my room, I find all of my personal possessions had been moved, as well as a fan I had set up by the door to block all of the household noises, he had unplugged it, and put it where he wanted it, along with a box of tissues I put next to the bed, he returned it back to where he wanted it. When I opened the refrigerator to get my cup of coffee, it was gone. When I asked him what happened to it, he told me “he thought I had mistakenly left it in there so he dumped it” when I told him that was not acceptable, he changed his story to that he had to follow household procedures by disinfecting every cup and glass in each room. Absolutely unacceptable and bizarre behavior. He makes his guest feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, do yourself a favor and find another place to stay if you want peace and quiet and privacy.

Firstly the good part: the Laurels are friendly and helpful people, the breakfast is cooked live and just lovely, the beds are of good quality and everything is really clean. Felsted has nice walking areas and a great pub/restaurant called The Swan. There’s one downside, and that’s that you live inside the house of your hosts. They might stay up for you. They will ask where you’ve been. Command you to take your shoes off and keep your room tidy enough for them to clean. The guy will give you an exhausting explanation of the lights and the shower. You can’t change the temperature in the room so you’ll be sweating all night. They won’t leave you alone to have a calm breakfast. Their interest in your whereabouts is next to nosy. They’ve got a silly habit with the locks, it’s like a ford. If they’ve forgotten to take the inside keys out, you can’t get in with your own key. And the man once scared the living sh#t out of me by standing right behind the door as I got in. So… if you don’t mind paying a serious commercial price for staying over at your quite estranged (grand)parents, be their guest! 😉

A nice welcome to this wonderful B & B/guest house set in beautiful surroundings. The accommodation was very clean & a lot of attention to detail. A very comfortable bed with excellent quality mattress! Stan & Trish put on & cooked us a delicious breakfast all sourced locally that set us up for the day! Nothing was too much trouble! Good arrangements for guests wanting to come home a little later in the evening (we visited a friend locally & got chatting away!) Would definitely recommend & would stay here again, Thank you both! 🙏😊

Hi,I have just spent 3 wonderful nights at Laurels.This B&B is perfect and spotlessly clean,nothing was to much trouble for the owners Stan and Patricia,the breakfast was wonderful and the rooms comfortable and clean.They are so hardworking and the B&B is a credit to them.Ignore any negative comments as this is a beautiful relaxing place to be.I will miss our little chats over breakfast,are the cats missing me?.Once again thankyou to both of you.I highly recommend,tell Stan to keep chasing the starlings off.

Our home from home stay We booked the laurels via my work employee benefits portal but had a look at a few reviews prior to visiting. Let me tell you how relaxing and quiet this stay was. The owner Stan met us at the door when we arrived, was friendly and sociable. The house was immaculate and extremely well presented. Guests have the ability to use the main lounge and a tasty breakfast is served in the morning in the dining room. There was a great selection of food and it was fresh and tasty and cooked to our preference. Our room was the luxury deluxe double and was very comfortable and clean with some little luxury additions of body wash and lotion ( and essentials for the ladies ) The queen bed and pillows enable a lovely deep sleep. The en-suite was a wet room and hot water on tap with some super soft bath towels. I had three showers and hot water available at each time. The brilliant furnishings and home comforts of the room added to the relaxing stay. However I must comment on the host’s Stan and Tricia. They made our stay all the more enjoyable their obvious high standards and pride of their BnB is extremely evident and is the main reason we will be back again in the future. They are extremely communicative and I felt they were available during our stay for anything we needed. We had struggled to get a taxi due to the village location and Stan advised us he would have fetched us. ( next time we will arrange this, Thanks Stan ) The little added touch of the purified water in the decanter in the fridge and the tray of biscuits and selections of tea and coffee in our room felt like a luxury. The Dyson fan was a great addition during a warm evening. The Laurels is a lovely beautifully decorated and well situated place to stay . If you are looking for a home from home break then look no further than the Laurels because it has all you need. I would highly recommend it. See you again soon Tricia and Stan. Ari and James

This establishment is definitely a 5☆ stay. Stan &Tricia couldn't have been more welcoming to us,from the moment I booked on the phone with Tricia, to arriving & meeting Stan. The house is beautiful, and quite rightly so they are very proud of what they have built together. The bedroom was beautiful, & the best sleep in a lovely bed. A beautifully cooked breakfast was prepared in the kitchen while the hosts chatted to us throughout . A lovely experience all on all. Also Stan provides a taxi service which is very reasonable for his guests. Thank you. All in all a brilliant stay,which we cannot praise enough. Stan and Tricia we will be back if you'll have us. Following all the reviews we read, we thought this would be a perfect stay for our wedding accommodation, as we were getting married at Braintree Town Hall. Upon arrival, following a three-hour journey, we were shunned for turning up late, which couldn’t be avoided due to traffic on the M25. We checked in, and we expected to be able to relax a little while, unpack etc, but the main host was adamant in detailing about the accommodation. We of course, could see that the hosts were very proud of their beautiful home, but we felt that this was not the time, especially before out wedding night!! They were very accommodating with a bottle of prosecco, in the fridge, but due to the long journey we were also hungry, so my partner (now husband!) wanted to go out locally and pick some food up and another bottle of wine. We were instantly told there was no shops locally, even though there was, and we were made to feel uncomfortable for doing this. Following return from the shop, I had to ask twice for the hot water to be put on for the shower, as needed to have my hair washed/dried prior to my stylist coming the next day. Consequently, using the hairdryer, led to the hosts knocking on the door and telling us to keep the noise down, as there was a family leaving very early the next day. We was very apologetic, but what we couldn’t understand was that we were told, that there could be not any families staying, which meant I couldn’t even have my step daughter staying overnight with us!! On the morning of our wedding, I went downstairs to let in the stylist, immediately both hosts told her not to make any mess, and make sure she had a mat as otherwise would be £100 to pay. I felt extremely uncomfortable as did my stylist and this ruined part of my morning. Furthermore, my now husband had asked them kindly if they could bring up a croissant and coffee later on in the morning for me to have, during my hair/makeup. I got a knock on the door after 9am, and one of the hosts just walked in and demanded to know why I hadn’t come down for breakfast!! Finally, when we had finished getting ready, I came out to one of the other hosts in the neigbouring bedroom, just wearing his boxers and wanted to know when my step son was arriving, so he could be checked in, despite being told all this information the night before. Following my mother-in-law and father in law arriving, to collect my step son and daughter and his partner, there was no welcoming and the hosts were very hostile. They were asked within a couple of minutes of their arrival, ‘what were they doing there!?’ Thankfully following this my husband and I had a lovely day. The following morning, my husband and his family went down for breakfast, I chose not to, as to be fair I was feeling quite hungover as to be expected!! Immediately I was criticised by the hosts for not coming down for breakfast. Prior to us leaving, we again were criticised for coming back very late from our wedding (11pm) and that I was r
