高山旅館

What a lovely time was had~ Ann-Marie was busy folding sheets when I arrived, and boy, can she fold sheets! She escorted me up the beautiful stairway to a LOVELY en-suite with a magnificent bed! She checked everything to make sure it was perfect. When I came down, we discussed dinner plans and she called ahead to make reservations! It was such a lovely VT gesture as I am a 7th generation Vermonter. The next morning Joe, the culinary expert and husband of Ann-Marie made a magnificent breakfast with all organic products. I learned that Joe has worked many years in the culinary industry and knows what he is doing. It was so enjoyed. On the way out, I said Good-bye to Joe, and the lovely Canadian goats they have.

The Inn is in a lovely spot only a few minutes' drive from downtown Montpelier. The views from the property are gorgeous. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed with hand crafted furniture, and very comfortable with a king bed and large bath.The windows overlooked the mountains and gave us a beautiful, lingering sunset view. All the linens were absolutely top shelf. Hosts Ann-Marie and Joe Dixon were welcoming and lively, and we enjoyed conversations with them. Our full breakfast included homemade berry compote and local artisanal bread. My husband and I agreed that High Hill Inn is one of the loveliest B&B's we have ever stayed in.

Our experience at High Hill inn was definitely not representative of the cost to spend the night. Although our room was neat it was very small and upstairs which meant we had to carry luggage up steps. Our bathroom was only assessable from the hall, which was not very convenient. Our breakfast was very good but the kitchen and entire downstairs was completely cluttered with “stuff”, piled in any open area. The porch where we entered was piled with boxes and the yard was very unkept. The pictures on their website misrepresent what High Hill Inn looks like. Definitely not worth the $$$.

Good breakfast. Hosts did not allow passage into their kitchen and there was nowhere to sit on the property except our room. On the second night, we lost all water, so could not flush and we needed a toilet badly. We left early, did not pay for the second night
