科納興亞旅館(Kona Koa Lodge)

Ich kann die Kona Koa Lodge uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Jerome ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber. Hat und pünktlich vom Flughafen abgeholt und mit einem Blumenkranz empfangen. Auf der kurzen Fahrt zur Lodge hat er uns die wichtigsten Infos gegeben. Im Vorfeld haben wir die Ausflüge und das Auto bei Ihm gebucht. Immer rasche und freundliche Rückantwort. Die Lodge selber liegt ein bisschen ausserhalb der Stadt. Auto daher unbedingt zu empfehlen. Unser Bungalow war einfach nur traumhaft. Der Blick von der Terrasse und dem Bett ist traumhaft. Sehr sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten auch eine Aussenbrause. Jerome hat uns auch mit Mangos aus seinem Garten versorgt. Für alle die die Ruhe suchen und kein Hotelservice mit Bar, Frühstückbuffet suchen einfach nur perfekt. Danke

We had a terrific stay. Jerome hooked us up with an amazing tour guide and our rental car. All went great and we would recommend staying at this place!

We spent only 3 nights here in November, but we enjoyed every moment of the stay! The room has marvelous view of the ocean, and on clear nights you should be able to the milky way (unfortunately it was always cloudy during our stay, but we still saw many stars). It is far away from the town so you will definitely need to rent a car. I really like the small kitchen in the room where you can cook while enjoying the breath-taking view of the garden and the ocean. Owners are very friendly and speaks very good English (you cannot find many english speakers here). I would definitely stay here again if I have a chance to go to Rapa Nui again. Tip: it can get a little chilly at night in spring time, so I would suggest always shower in the afternoon!

The Kona Koa is the perfect accommodation when visiting Easter Island. There are several very beautiful and traditional cabins overlooking their lush grounds and ocean. We arranged for the owners to pick us up at the airport as well as used their rental car which saved us so much time and made things so easy for us upon arrival. Fiddi and Jerome also arranged two tours with local Guides using our rental car. The guides are required to see most of the islands sites so this worked out perfectly and they were both wonderful and informative. I would say that the roads are not the best on the island so if you are a timid driver you may not want to do the driving yourself. The car we had was a manual as well. We took the car out for a full day on our own the last day which was really nice. As stated earlier there aren’t many places you can see without a guide but we had a great lunch at Anakena beach and then took our time driving around the island and finding the perfect photo ops!

The Kona Koa Lodge is a perfect accommodation on Rapa Nui. The property is outside of the main town of Hanga Roa so it feels secluded and quiet. You will hear the chickens and the dogs at times during the night or early morning, but it's all part of the ambiance -- which includes wild horses roaming nearby, island breezes, colorful flowers and a sea view. Fiji is a great host. She picked us up at the airport, pointed out several places in town and gave us her WhatsApp number in case we had any questions or needed any reservations. It was only my wife and I in our bungalow but with an extra loft space and futon in the living room you could easily stay with a family of 4 or 5, or with 4 adult friends. The water pressure and temperature were unexpectedly amazing. Internet speed and stability were also surprisingly good; we were able to sustain several Facetime calls back to the US with no problems. The bed is extremely comfortable, the linens are nice, and they clean the room each day. If you're wondering where to get your guide and if you should rent a car, just save yourself the time and stress and do both through Kona Koa. The guide they booked for us, Tai, was fantastic and great to have conversations with. She also drove the car so my wife and I could marvel at the countryside on the way to the various sites. So if you're reading this reasearching lodging on Easter Island, stop and look no further -- Kona Koa is the place to stay!

On checkout day, Fiji also gave us a ride into Hanga Roa and kept our luggage so we could have some breakfast and do our souvenir shopping. It was only my wife and I in our bungalow but with an extra loft space and futon in the living room you could easily stay with a family of 4 or 5, or with 4 adult friends. Internet speed and stability were also surprisingly good; we were able to sustain several Facetime calls back to the US with no problems. The kitchenette has a small refrigerator and 2-burner stove (light it with the cigarette lighter, as I found out!) as well as several pots, pans, plates and glasses. We used this for morning coffee, tea and toast and it worked great. The tap water is potable, however Kona Koa also provides a small bottled water dispenser which tastes great. If you're wondering where to get your guide and if you should rent a car, just save yourself the time and stress and do both through Kona Koa. The guide they booked for us, Tai, was fantastic and great to have conversations with. She also drove the car so my wife and I could marvel at the countryside on the way to the various sites. We used the Suzuki Jimny -- which seems to be the unofficial vehicle of the island -- and it was just what you should want for this location: manual, bumpy, no-frills, fun. You'll need to stop by the one gas station on the island to fill it up before the end of your stay, but we didn't even use a whole tank over the four days we had the car. If you're reading this reasearching lodging on Easter Island, stop and look no further -- Kona Koa is the place to stay!

Our two night stay at Kona Koa was out of this world. Breathtaking views and just the right amount of peace and quiet. Fidji and Her father Jerome went above and beyond for us. Organizing taxis and providing all the comforts of the island. We walked into town the long way and enjoyed seeing the views and meeting locals and tourists along the way. The view of the ocean and the sunsets were incredible. Comfortable bed and we used the kitchen to make shrimp for dinner and made our own breakfast with eggs and juice. Fidji is truly a one of a kind human being and we miss being there already. A definite must stay.

I would highly recommend staying at Kona Koa. We truly enjoyed our stay here will visiting Rapa Nui! We were picked up and dropped off at the airport by Fiji (the daughter of the owner) who is so kind and showed us around the main part of the island before we checked in. We took advantage of renting a car and hiring a two day guide through the hotel with Jerome's (the owner) help. This is definitely the way to go! Everything is right there for you and the guide provided by the lodge was fantastic. He spoke great English and had so much knowledge about the island. The lodge has individual huts located on the property of the owner. Great detail was put in the natural decoration of our hut (with live edge wooden tables and a stone shower floor!). We had a wonderful view of the ocean and comfy outdoor furniture to relax on the private deck. There is a kitchen to make coffee or food if you desire and they provide drinking water. Just a heads up there was no AC or fans so it got a bit hot during the prime hours of the day (but this would not be a deal breaker for us as I am sure most of the island does not have AC!) The lodge is less than a mile from the best sunset location on the island and only a 5 minute drive to the Main Street in town. The last part of the road to get to the lodge is a dirt road and bumpy, but that didn't bother us. You can't go wrong with choosing Kona Koa Lodge!
