黑天鵝酒店(Black Swan)

Wonderful Welcome from Jacki and Steve. Lovely room, small but fine, view over the road at the front of the hotel. The thing that made this stay was the food, we had dinner and it was outstanding, fresh beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast had to be pre ordered but I actually find this a really sensible thing to as it cuts down on wastage, it was hot fresh and plentiful. My only petty gripe would be the wooden toilet seat and the toilet paper! it was ''sheets'' from a plastic holder rather than an actual toilet roll, made me feel like I was in a public loo... yes petty I know... but true. Otherwise an amazing find by my other half, a warm welcome and superb food. Would happily return. Thank you both.

This is a review of the restaurant only, but I am sure staying at the Black Swan would be a pleasure. We dropped on spec for Sunday lunch. They fitted us in and we enjoyed one of the best lunches for many a long day. We had the roast beef . Portions were generous vegetables nicely cooked and presented on very hot plates. I wish we lived closer. Prices were reasonable too. If I am being ultra critical, personally I prefer my roast potatoes a bit crispy round the edges. Would I go again- you bet but we move on tomorrow!

Small but very friendly Inn all the staff are very friendly rooms are onsuite meals are generous and a good choice all are home cooked and the eggs Benedict for breakfast are some of the best i have had .

Absolutely delightful family run local pub, ideally situated with great parking and a good base for people to stay on holiday or to visit for a top notch meal. Culgaith is a really pleasant little village and Stephen and Jackie will really look after you both with some really excellent food and with that extra touch of class that make you feel valued and at home. If ever your staying or passing nearby would highly recommend booking a table for a meal!!

If you want a quiet stay not far from places to visit then this is it! Great host's and staff, comfortable rooms and what's more fantastic food!! So good have booked again. Definitely recommend it!! 😃😃

The Black Swan is a pleasant pub in a quiet village setting. The staff were friendly and the place was spotless. But avoid room seven if you can. Though large and comfortable, a huge kitchen extractor fan right outside our window roared like a jet engine! Fortunately it had been switched off by mid evening. The food was disappointing and overpriced. Chicken Masala, obviously not made fresh, was £19 and bland. My wife's mushroom stroganoff contained pork. Fortunately she's not vegetarian. Breakfast has to be ordered the night before with a time specified. Ours was still served nearly half an hour late, leaving us rushing to make a ferry on our onward journey. So overall the message is "could do better."

We had cycled a long way and were exhausted when we arrived. The atmosphere inside was warm and friendly and the staff helped us park our bikes in a safe space (after we had found our way pst the car that blocked us in at the front!). Lovely room and shower. Really good food in the evening and breakfast in the morning. This is a gem of a place to stay - if you are passing this way it is worth staying here.

The Black Swan is a really good pub to stay at, the location is great and it’s easy to find. The food is excellent and the owner is really welcoming. It’s perfect for a stop over on the way to Scotland, or to explore Cumbria.
