We booked this lodge based on the reviews and photos. I think the reviews have been made up. This place sadly is a sinking ship. The setting and views offer enormous potential but the owners have lost interest. We never saw them. The 4km sand road is horrendous with at times one wheel in the air negotiating rocks and dongas. We left early after 2 days.

What a lovely, beautiful, peaceful place! The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious! The rooms are spacious and clean. The fireplace was wonderful! Loved the hike in the Cloud Forest. It would be nice if couple's massages could be done at the spa

Very beautiful setting. staff was amazing and helpful. rooms were clean and excellent to stay in. awesome hiking trials and just so relaxing. i will be going back. set in the mountains. quite and relaxing

Lovely place with amazing views from the Beach Cottage. Would definitely return but would think twice about driving up the mountain if wet, the possibility of being collect at the base was not explained before we arrived. If self catering then some of the basics may be needed, eg cutting board, wine glasses..

The view of the mountains and surrounding escarpment may be magnificent, but the stay is not worth the money paid at all. Our "luxury" suit had no TV, let alone DSTV as stipulated. There is NO network coverage, no WiFi in the suits and the WiFi at the restaurant is horrible. It's 2022. Feels like 1960. No. Just no. The hostess was nowhere to be seen the entire weekend. We don't even know what she looks like. Terrible experience. Will not recommend at all. Do yourself a favour and book a stay at another lodge.

We had an awesome weekend, peaceful and tranquil. An ideal getaway for those who just wants to enjoy nature and a bit of quietness from the city hustle. The trails are a must! Absolutely wonderful to enjoy the beauty a nature! We will definitely recommend Forest Creak Lodge.

The physicality is breath taking! It is close enough to Johannesburg that a quick weekend getaway is doable without driving for untold hours before you reach your destination. This is quiet hideaway, and even though Wi-Fi availability is advertised, there is no cover in the accommodation that we used. Spotty Wi-Fi is available in the reception area. The approach roadway is bad! So no small cars as you need height or off-road ability, large cars are wide and are damaged by encroaching vegetation so be prepared. 8 km of dust Road took us around 50 minutes to complete, so if you are looking for driving fun en route to your destination, then this place is great.

A peaceful retreat away from the world. Gorgeous views, fantastic walks, black eagles, clay pigeon shooting, good service & well appointed rooms. Just what the doctor ordered for s true escape from the world! Thank you Anita, Mush, Paulus & Team for an unforgettable stay.

This was one of the worst experiences I had in a long time!!! Definitely not worth the money for the stay as well as the food! Will not recommend it to anyone I know. Privacy is non existent and not secluded at all.

We spent 1 night at Forest Creek Lodge. We didnt have a high clearance car to make it to the top of the hill but we parked our car safely at the bottom of the hill and were picked up here. We stayed in the Beach House specifically because of the stunning mountain and we were not disappointed. Most stunning views! The room had everything you could need for a pleasant stay. Although we stayed in a self catering unit we enjoyed the most wonderful 3 course dinner at the lodge! Delicious! The biggest highlight for us was the hiking.... Such interesting and beautiful trails in the forest, quite tough towards the end but so enjoyable. Unfortunately the spa was closed which is something I was looking forward to. Overall I wish we could have stayed longer! Very special place...
